Anderson, Nichols take home title at The Devlin
BEAUFORT, S.C. — Chip Anderson and Steve Nichols scored a narrow victory in the Cannon Division of the 2015 Devlin Invitational at Secession Golf Club.
Tied with two teams (including the defending champions) after 36 holes, Anderson and Nichols posted a solid aggregate total of 2-over 146, edging second-round co-leaders Daniel Russo and Scott Wilson by a single shot. The defending champs, Mike Atkeison and Jeff Navarre, struggled with a 156 aggregate on Sunday.
Meanwhile Steve Albright and Drew Ditty posted the lowest aggregate, a 2-under 142 to move well up the leaderboard into solo third place.
Bob Cinotti and Alan Henderson took the Saber Division title in a sudden-death playoff after tying with George Adams and Mike Pierce in regulation. Cinotti and Henderson made up four shots in the final round with a best-ball 68.
