Anthony Baker leads by two at World Amateur
Round 1 site International Club
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — After Monday's opening round was rained out, players returned to their respective courses at the World Amateur to find wet conditions.
Former Mini Tour player Anthony Baker bested those difficult conditions, posting 70 at International Club on Tuesday to lead by a couple strokes. Matt Corbitt, Mark Torres, and Wes Samons are tied for second place at 72.
AmateurGolf.com founder Pete Wlodkowski posted 76 in the first round and is six shots back in a tie for 12th place.
The tournament, which hosts around 3,500 golfers each year at more than 40 Myrtle Beach area courses, is in its second year of including a scratch division.
