GROVE CITY, Ohio — Ohio State sophomore Josh Wick defeated Iowa State junior Jack Carter 3-and-1 on Thursday in the Columbus Amateur championship match.

Carter, the 2-seed from Columbus, found himself in the final match after handing medalist and No. 1 seed Alex Weiss a 4-and-3 defeat in the semifinals.

Weiss, a sophomore at Marshall University, shot a six-under 66 at Oakhurst Country Club to grab the top seed. Carter fired 68 to earn the second seed while Wick tied for fourth at two-under 70.
