SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 10, 2015) -- The 2015 Sacramento City Senior and Super Senior Mens Championship was decided earlier this week at Bing Maloney Golf Club in Sacramento.

Mark Morgan won the Senior division with rounds of 71-69. Morgan finished two ahead of the first round leader Mitch Harrison who shot rounds of 68-74. 2014 champion Jim Knoll finished in third place with scores of 69-74.

In the Super Senior Division, first round leader Jeff Early got off to a rough start in the final round with an opening nine of 41. However, Early battled back to shoot 35 on the back nine for a final round 76 that was good enough to win by 1 shot over four golfers at 148: Jensen, Reuther, Johnson and Ackerman.

ABOUT THE Sacramento City Senior

The Sacramento Golf Council presents the 50th City Senior and 9th City Super Senior Men's Championships at Bing Maloney Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 24 and 25, 2018. The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers age 55 and older as of July 1, who are members of an organized golf club with an established USGA Index of 9.4 or less.

The entry fee is $130 per player and includes two days green fees, range balls and awards - power cart not included. The entry deadline is July 11 and there will be no refunds after this date. Requests for twosome pairings are acceptable, but requests for a foursome are not allowed. There will be a $25.00 service charge for returned checks.

The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke play – 18 holes each day. The Senior flight will be for ages 55 to 64 and the Super Senior flight will be for ages 65 and over. Ties for champions in both flights will be decided in a sudden death playoff starting on the 17th hole. All other ties will be divided evenly by the sum of the combined places. The lowest 36-hole gross scores in the respective flights will be declared the 2018 City Senior and Super Senior Men’s Champions. The names will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy.
