Christian Raynor, Jack Hall lead Georgia Mid-Amateur
KENNESAW, Ga. (May 16, 2015) -- First round leader Christian Raynor has some company at the top at the 2015 Georgia Mid-Amateur.
Today, Savannah legend Jack Hall posted 3-under 67 at Marietta Country Club to tie local favorite, and first-round leader Christian Raynor (a member of the host club).
Hall's round was equaled by 2013 U.S. Senior Amateur winner Doug Hanzel, who is tied for 8th at 3-over 143.
The title is up for grabs on Sunday.
ROUND 1 RESULTS
The lowest of four players under par at the Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship is Kennesaw resident Christian Raynor, who leads with 68 at Marietta Country Club.
Tied for second place at 69, which is one-under par at this 6,800-yard, par 70, are Mike Combs, Chad Branton, and Stan Gann, Jr. Brandon, of Cartersville, would have owned the first-round lead on his own if it weren't for a double bogey on the 16th hole, while Combs and Gann, Jr. both birdied two of their last five holes to break par on Friday.
One of three players tied for fifth place at even-par is Jack Hall of Savannah, who captured this year's Jones Cup Senior Invitational.
This 54-hole championship will conclude on Sunday.
