Gary Hurley to face Jeroen Krietenmeijer in Spanish Int'l Amateur final

JEREZ, Spain — Gary Hurley of Ireland is set to face Jeroen Krietenmeijer of the Netherlands in the Spanish International Amateur final on Sunday at Jerez Golf Club on the southeast coast of Spain.

Hurley handed Ashley Chesters of England a 3-and-2 defeat in the semifinals while Krietenmeijer defeated Ivan Cantero of Spain on the 19th hole. Cantero was one of four co-medaists, along with Michael Saunders and Jonathan Thomson of England and Viktor Hovland of Norway.

Hovland, the No. 1 seed, was ousted in the round of 16 on Thursday by Hurley, 4-and-3 defeat. Hurley went on to face Markus Maukner of Austria in Friday morning's quarterfinal match, where he prevailed 3-and-2.
