PHOENIX, Ariz. (Jan. 6, 2015) — Phoenix Country Club hosted the 54th playing of the Bob Goldwater Cup Matches on January 5-6, where 24 of Arizona's top amateur golfers competed against 24 Southwest Section PGA Professionals.

The seniors held their own in the morning four-ball matches tying the professional 3-3. It was during the afternoon Foursome Matches that they stepped up their game winning 4-1/2 to 1-1/2 giving them a four-point lead going into the Tuesday’s singles matches. After a hard-fought day, they prevailed on seven of the 12 matches to win back the cup 14-1/2 to 9-1/2.

The Open Division consisted of Captain Bryon Hoops, Shankar Natarajan, Greg Cesarek, Mills Brown, Ken Tanigawa, Grant Cesarek, Kris Marshall, Sean O’Donnell, Trey Martin, Adam Walicki, Warren Vickers and Scott Beren.
