Wollam wins Northwest Iowa Amateur by four
SPENCER, IA (August 3, 2014) — The 2014 Northwest Iowa Amateur was a wire-to-wire victory for Ben Wollam. The Grand View University golfer shot back-to-back 65s to open up the tournament, only sharing the lead after the first round.
Wollam then shot rounds of 68 and 70 on the weekend to win the event by four shots over Trent Peterson, who recently finished his final year at South Dakota State University.
Peterson's 64 on Saturday was the low round of the tournament, but a 71 on Sunday kept him still four shots behind Wollam. Still, Peterson was four shots ahead of third place finisher J.D. Anderson.
