Johnson, Vernon tied at Missouri Stroke Play
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (July 22, 2014) -- Joey Johnson shot a second-round 70 and sits tied alongside Carr Vernon after two rounds of play at the 2014 Missouri Stroke Play.
Johnson, who has won the last two state amateurs, shot 67 in Round 1. Vernon, meanwhile, shot the reverse scores of Johnson, going 70-67 in Rounds 1 and 2.
Seth Smith is alone in third at 4-under after a second straight 69 while Brad Nurski, Tyler Stalker and J.D. Nash are all tied for fourth place.
