Anderson Memorial Four-Ball: Semifinals set

MAMARONECK, N.Y. (June 7, 2014) -- Defending champions Max Buckley and Max Christiana won two matches and are on to the semifinals at the 2014 Anderson Memorial Four-Ball at famed Winged Foot.

Buckley, a former SMU star, and Christiana, who plays currently at Boston College, knocked off Dan Keogh and Bill Hutcheson in the Round of 16 before defeating John Kemp and Stephen Jensen in the afternoon quarterfinals.

Timothy Kane and Matt Sughrue are also into the semifinals. They knocked off Dan O'Callaghan and Eoghan O'Connell in the semifinals.

Luis Fernando Barco and Patriciio Alzamora knocked off Kevin Marsh and Giles Kibbe to advance while Pascal Grizot and Bertrand Noel defeated Shane Heise and Scott Loving to move on.

Buckley and Christiana will take on Kane and Sughrue on Sunday morning in the semifinals while Fernando Barco and Alzamora face off against Grizot and Noel.

In the Senior Division, top-seeded Bart Goodwin and Mike Peck are on to the semifinals where they'll face Bob Howe and Mike Murr.

In the other Sunday semifinal match, Tom Yellin and Jack Kiernan will face off agianst Jay Pumphrey and Dave Clement after two victories on Saturday.

The Anderson Memorial Four-Ball is perhaps the nation's premier four-ball invitational. With many of the game's top competitive mid-amateurs and seniors, the Anderson is played annually at famed Winged Foot, site of many major amateur and professional championships and the 2020 U.S. Open.

Anderson, the event consists of a 36 hole qualifier followed by two days of match play competition in both Championship and Senior divisions.
