BOULDER CITY, Nev. (April 4, 2014) -- The Clark County Senior Amateur was hosted by Boulder Creek Golf Club and showcased some of the best Senior golfers in the Valley. In the end, Kevin Parrish stood tallest.
Parrish won the first major of the year in a playoff victory over Tom Hyland. Both player's finished with an even par 144 (both shooting 73-71) to beat the rest of the field by 3 strokes. Parrish won with a par on the first playoff hole. He had to make an 8 footer for par on the final hole to get in a playoff with Hyland, who had finished in the group ahead of him.
Rounding out the top 5 in the Scratch Division was James Hill (74 - 73 = 147), Kelly Knievel (76 - 73 = 149) and Evan Green (73 - 76 = 149).
In the Senior Net Division, Evan Green won the championship with a 143 Net (70 - 73) while Brian McShane (68 -76 = 144) and Jim O'Hare (73 -75 = 148) finished in the Top 3.
Super Senior Championship, Bob Martin played steady golf over 2 days to win his first tournament in over 3 years. Martin, who also plays with the Arizona Golf Association, shot 71 - 74 for a 2 day total of 145. That was one better then regular champion Frank Abbott who bogey the final hole of the tournament after he put his tee shot in the water. Abbott finished with a 75 - 71 for a 2 day total of 146.
Martin hasn't played with the SNGA for quite some time, but is starting to get back in the swing of things with an impressive major win.
Rounding out the Top 4 for the Super Senior Championship was Richard Southwick (76 - 76 = 152) and Thomas DiGiacomo (77 - 77 = 154)
In the Super Senior Net Division, Thomas DiGiacomo, or Tommy D, won the Championship with 138 Net (69 - 69). The 2013 Super Senior Net Player of the Year, Ed Stocklen, finished in 2nd.
