ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2014) -- The
2014
PGA Merchandise Show kicks
off Tuesday with the Demo Day at Orange
County National.
Measuring more than 40 acres, the circular
practice tee at OCN is a sight
to see for any golf fan -- especially the golf
equipment nut. Seemingly
every golf company and product will be well
represented at the PGA
Show’s Demo Day.
Here’s a look at the products, companies and
themes we’re excited to
follow at this year’s Demo Day:
1.)
True Temper: The game’s
leading shaft manufacturer -- and
official shaft company of amateurgolf.com --
is promoting its recently-
released XP series shafts. Made for more
power, speed and distance, the
XPs will be on showcase during Demo Day and
patrons will have the
opportunity to participate in the XP Challenge.
The winner will receive a
new set of shafts and a beautiful custom-
made
Harley Iron
Sportster.
2.)
Ping Golf: With its
newly-released i25 Series, Ping
has already generated buzz
around its products and we’re truly excited to
see the series and the rest
of the Ping lineup. Geared towards a wide
range of players with a wide
range of skill levels, the i25 series -- which
includes a driver, fairway
woods, hybrids and irons -- could become one
of the year’s best selling
and performing models.
3.)
Footjoy D.N.A.: Following its
release of its M Project shoes
last year, Footjoy recently unveiled its latest
shoe -- the D.N.A. Made
with more technology than ever thought
available, it’s the most advanced
shoe yet and has been marketed to be the
perfect blend of style,
functionality and comfort. We’re excited to run
through Footjoy’s fitting
process and see what its newest shoe is all
about.
4.)
Callaway Drivers: Callaway
came through with a terrific
showing at last year’s PGA Show and we’re
excited to see what it brings
to the table again this year. We’re especially
excited to try the brand’s
two newest driver models -- the
Big
Bertha and Big Bertha
Alpha and the X2 Hot and X2 Hot Pro.
The Big Bertha family, a redo
on the old Big Bertha drivers and woods that
found their way into almost
every bag in the 1990s and early 2000s, is
back with a full compliment of
drivers and fairway woods for men and
women. The X2 Hot and X2 Hot
Pro family is a full range of clubs, including
drivers, fairways, hybrids
and irons. We heard they’re long…
5.)
Titleist’s Presence: Always
understated, Titleist rarely
disappoints with its presence at the PGA
Show. We’ll hear plenty about the company
and
its 2014 initiatives and focuses on Wednesday
when the show floor
opens. At Demo Day, though, we’re excited to
see its latest offerings. In
particular, we’re excited to get a hands-on
look at the 714 series CB and
MB irons as well as the newest Vokey Spin
Milled wedges and the
Futura X Dual Balance
putter from Scotty Cameron.
We’ll be sure to report daily on the top
products, most interesting
storylines and themes, so be sure to follow
the action here or on our
Face
book
and
Twi
tter feeds. At Demo
Day, we’ll be working alongside our friends
from the
Back 9
Network, so be on the lookout
for video coverage of the biggest brands and
products.
