Australian Women's Am: No. 1 seed falls
SEATON, Australia (Jan. 16, 2014) -- 16 year-old Korean and top qualifier So-Young Lee's campaign ended on the opening day, losing to Chantelle Cassidy (NZL) 2&1 as Australia's leading players progressed. Australia's World Number 2 and 3 amateurs Minjee Lee (WA) and Su-Hyun Oh (VIC) cruised to comfortable victories, winning 7&6 and 6&5 respectively over Sue Wooster (VIC) and Samathan Foley (QLD).
Jayde Panos (WA) also recorded a resounding 7&6 victory to move into the round of 16 on Friday afternoon. Women's British Amateur runner up Luna Sobron (ESP) won 5&4 to maintain her progress while 2013 runner-up Jenny Lee (SA) won 1up.
The top 16 women will play in the second round of Match Play on Friday afternoon.
