Colo. Senior Stroke Play: Forey leads
PARKER, Colo. (Sept. 4, 2013) — Sean Forey of Bear Creek Golf Club fired a bogey-free 5-under-par 67 to grab a one-shot lead after Wednesday's first round of the 42nd CGA Senior Stroke Play Championship at The Club at Pradera in Parker.
Forey, twice low amateur in the HealthOne Colorado Senior Open, made five birdies on Wednesday.
On a day when seven players broke par, Brent Timm of the Pinery Country Club opened with a 68 and 2013 CGA Senior Match Play winner Harry Johnson of Eagle Ranch Golf Course carded a 69.
Patrick Mooney of Colorado Golf Club, who earlier this year won the Super-Senior (over-60) division of the CGA Senior Match Play, stands in fourth place at 70.
Defending champion David Delich of the Broadmoor Golf Club started with a 73.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Friday. The field will be cut to the low 40 and ties after round 2.

ABOUT THE Colorado Senior Amateur
Active CGA members ages 50 and up. 54 holes of
stroke play. A 36-hole cut will be
made to the low 40 players and ties.
Non-exempt players must pre-qualify.
