RALEIGH, NC (Aug. 2, 2013) – Round of 32 and round of 16 match play results of the 4th North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, NC on Friday, August 2, 2013 (6304 yards, par 35-36—71, 70.8/133).

Defending champion Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington run at consecutive titles ended in the round of 16 with a 3 and 2 loss to Danny Piztoski of Davidson, NC. Piztoski will play Joshua Stockwell of West End, NC in the quarterfinals.

Current Carolinas Amateur champion Carter Jenkins of Raleigh advances to the quarterfinals where he will face Eric Brady of Cary.

Other quarterfinal matches are Blair Bowland of Burlington versus Alex Nianouris of Salisbury and Brent McKenzie of Wake Forest plays Ryan Eibner of Greenville.

This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association which in its 104th year of serving amateur golf in the Carolinas.

ABOUT THE North Carolina Amateur Match Play

Open to any male amateur golfer 13 and older. Must be a resident of North Carolina and a member of a CGA club with an index no greater than 9.9. Sectional qualifying is required for those who do not meet the exemption criteria. Format consists of 36 holes of stroke play qualifying followed by a cut to the low 32 players for match play.
