Iowa Sr. Am: Balduf leads early
POLK CITY, Iowa (June 28, 2013) -- After one day at the Tournament Club of Iowa in Polk City, Brent Balduf of Nevada has the lead at the Iowa Senior Amateur Championship with a one-under-par 70.
Right behind him at even par 71 are Dan Dalziel of Cedar Rapids and Gene Capps of Indianola. In the Super Senior division, Scott Carnes of Hiawatha fired in a 2-over-par 73 to lead by three strokes.
Lee Sulivan of Ankeny is in sole possession of second place with a five-over-par 76. Right behind him is Mike Mumma of Jefferson, who had a six-over-par 77. Weather conditions were mild but windy, adding to the difficulty of the course. The second day of play will begin at 7:00 a.m.
