BRUNSWICK, Georgia (July 4, 2015) — Travis Williamson won the 65th annual Golden Isles Invitational today at Brunswick Country Club. Williamson, 23, is from Brunswick and grew up playing golf locally for Glynn Academy. (He now attends Armstrong University.)

Williamson fired rounds of 64-65 over the first 36 holes and cruised to a 3-shot win over Dillon Board of Jacksonville. Board plays golf at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA.

Former PGA Tour star and TV announcer Steve Melnyk won the Senior division title. Melnyk led by one after the second round, but really eclipsed the field with a 65 on Saturday. That was 10 shots lower than runner-up Larry Woods, who finished in second place at 218 vs. Melnyk's 207 total.

The traditional 4th of July weekend tournament is played in the mainland port city that serves as the hub of Georgia's four barrier reef islands.
