HATTIESBURG, Miss. (July 8, 2012) -- Myles Lewis came from 2 shots back to claim the Magnolia Amateur at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss. Lewis, the Louisiana State sophomore, posted rounds of 69-69-67--204, defeating Nic Ishee, Laurel, Miss, by two strokes.

Kevin Brady, Southern Mississippi, was third with rounds of 69-67-71--207 while Purdue Boliermaker, Zhongyang Fu, signed for 71-68-69--208.

ABOUT THE The Magnolia Amateur

An exclusive amateur tournament for players who carry a 5 or lower handicap only. The Magnolia Amateur is a limited field event of 120 players made up of 80 players under 40 years old and 40 players over 40 years old. The competition will take place over 3 days with players put into divisions after the second round. Along with the individual tournament, there is a college team competition that will be based on the combined scores of two players on the same team over the 3 rounds.
