SCGA Four-Ball: Patel, Shah lead

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2011) -- Bhavik Patel and Manav Shah --- both of Bakersfield --- combined for a first-round 62 and hold a two-shot lead after the first round of the Southern California Golf Association Four-Ball Championship at Bakersfield Country Club.
Patel and Shah lead Mark Miller of West Covina and Pasadena's Dan Sullivan by two shots and Nichola Baratelle of Cypress and Ed Susolik of Newport Beach by four.
The 21st edition of the SCGA Four-Ball Championship makes its first venture into Kern County as Bakersfield CC prepares to host some of the SCGA’s top amateur players. A field of 104 players will be competing in 36 holes of four-ball stroke play this coming Monday and Tuesday.
For the first time in years, the field is wide open, as the defending champs will not be returning to the competition.

ABOUT THE SCGA Four-Ball
This event is open to members with handicap indexes
of 6.4 and below. Players will compete over 18 holes of
qualifying four-ball stroke play to determine the 52
teams which advance to the championship. The
Championship is conducted over 36 holes of stroke
play.
