Justin Smith of Oak Park Country Club carded a even-par 72 to win the Chicago District Mid-Amateur

CHICAGO, IL (Sept 14, 2011) -- Justin Smith of Oak Park Country Club carded a 40 going out in yesterdays Chicago District Mid-Amateur but that did not hinder his performance as he came in with a red hot 32 to get back to level par (72) and win the championship by two strokes over Anthony Sambo (74) of Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. Ralph Houck of Glencoe CC was third with a score of 75 with Tom Fox, Beverly CC, Keith Petri, St. Charles CC, and John Finnin of Olympia Fields CC all carded 76 so split fourth place.

About the Chicago Mid-Amateur

Open to any CDGA member age 25 or older, the CDGA Mid-Am features an 18-hole stroke play round to determine a 16-player match play bracket. Must be a 7.4 index or better.
