Mississippi Mid-Am: Cockerham still leads
PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (July 29, 2011) -- We have played thirty six holes at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club and Tracy Cockerham of Hamilton, MS is still the man to beat.
On another hot and sunny day in Philadelphia Cockerham, who played the first nine holes at one over par, managed to get three shots back coming in with a two under 70.
Lee Gladden of Madison matched his round with a 70 of his own to stay one shot behind going into the third and final day. David Sellers made up some ground with a three under par 69. Clay Homan shot a 70 to keep pace and is just 3 behind Cockerham. Brad Riles stumbled coming in with a three over par back nine to shoot 72 and is also just 3 behind.
Jake Lambert of Jackson made the shot of the day with an ace on the par three 5th hole. An 8 iron from 158 yards was the right club today. The round of the day belonged to Edward Wall who came in with a four under par 68.
