BanBury hosts the 2026 Eagle Amateur with WAGR points, added money, and one of Idaho’s top summer tests.
The Eagle Amateur returns this summer looking stronger than ever.
Set for June 19-21 at BanBury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, the fourth annual event continues to grow into one of the region's top amateur stops. This year’s tournament will feature more than $15,500 in added money, along with World Amateur Golf Ranking points in the men’s and women’s championship divisions — a combination that should once again make it one of the more attractive events on the Northwest summer calendar.
The championship and mid-amateur divisions will be contested over 54 holes of gross-only stroke play, while the senior and super senior championships will be played over 36 holes on June 19-20.
With men’s and women’s championship divisions, mid-amateur competition, and senior brackets all on the schedule, the Eagle Amateur continues to offer a competitive home for a wide range of players while still keeping the focus squarely on championship golf.
BanBury has become a natural fit for an event like this.
The John Harbottle III design has long been one of Idaho’s best-known public courses, and its championship résumé continues to grow. BanBury is the only course in Idaho to have hosted a USGA national championship, the 2005 U.S. Girls’ Junior, and it is also set to host the 2027 PNGA Men’s Amateur Championship.
More recently, the course hosted the 2025 Idaho Golf Association Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, another sign that BanBury has become one of the state’s go-to championship venues.
That matters for players. A good amateur event always starts with a course that can identify the best golf, and BanBury has shown it can do exactly that.
The Eagle Amateur itself is trending in the right direction. Last year’s event featured $12,500 in added money. This year, that number has grown to more than $15,500, another clear sign that the tournament is continuing to raise its profile.
Add in WAGR points, a proven host site, and a spot on the calendar that fits neatly into the heart of summer amateur season, and it is easy to see why this event should draw another strong field in 2026.
Players will also get more than just competitive rounds for their entry. Tournament information highlights a tee prize, range balls, a practice round, meal vouchers at Harvey’s Restaurant, and event credit, giving the week a polished feel that players notice.
Put it all together, and the formula is easy to see: a respected venue, a strong competitive structure, meaningful ranking value, and a player experience that continues to improve. That should make the 2026 Eagle Amateur one of the standout amateur events of the Idaho summer.
The 2026 Eagle Amateur checks a lot of boxes for competitive players: a championship-caliber course, a growing purse, valuable ranking opportunities, and a tournament setup built to attract a deep field. For players looking for a strong summer test in the Northwest, this is one worth circling.
