Carla Bernat of Kansas State won the 2025 ANWA and now backed it up with an individual regional championship
Six regionals are currently underway from May 5 to May 7, with 72 teams vying for 30 spots in the NCAA Division I women's championship, which will be held from May 16 to May 21 in Carlsbad, California, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. The University of Texas will be playing host, and the final three days of the championships will be televised live by the GOLF Channel.
Six 54-hole regional competitions will be played in regional play to determine the participants in the championship finals. In each regional, 12 teams and six individuals not on those teams will compete.
The top five teams and the individual not on those teams will advance to the finals. Beginning in 2024, the team champions will receive regional champion awards.
Day one results
Charlottesville Regional
Birdwood Golf Course, Charlottesville, Va.
South Carolina continues its hot play, following up its SEC team title with finishing as the lone team under par and securing the Charlottesville regional by eleven shots at 2-under. Ole Miss, Virginia, Florida, and UCLA finished in the top five to punch tickets to La Costa
In the individual competition, Marie Madsen of NC State finished one shot clear of Paula Francisco of Florida, finishing 5-under to earn medalist honors. Francisco finished in solo second place at 4-under.
Columbus Regional
OSU Golf Club, Columbus, Ohio
Kansas used an impressive round of 12-under 276 to win the team competition, besting Arkansas by three shots. These were the only teams to finish under par, as Kansas finished 6-under and Arkansas finished 3-under. Ohio State, UNLV, and LSU earned the other three qualifying spots.
Lyla Louderbaugh of Kansas dominated the individual competition, finishing 12-under and defeating the field by eight shots. She shot a final round 7-under 65 to pull away from the field. Maria Jose Marin of Arkansas and Clarisa Temelo of Arkansas finished T2 at 4-under.
Gold Canyon Regional
Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club, Gold Canyon, Ariz.
Oregon and Kiara Romero put on an impressive display in Arizona, securing the team and individual sweep. Oregon finished 12-under to win by nine shots and Romero finished 16-under to win by seven shots.
Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, and CSU Fullerton earned spots at the NCAA championships. Romero shot a second round 10-under 62 to pull away from the field, the lowest round in Oregon program history.
Lexington Regional
Keene Trace Golf Club, Lexington, Ky.
2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur champion Carla Bernat held off 2024 ANWA champion Lottie Woad of Florida State to win medalist honors in Lexington. Bernat finished 12-under, while Woad and star teammate Mirabel Ting finished T2 at 10-under.
Woad and Ting led ACC champions Florida State to the team win at 15-under, while Kansas State and Georgia Southern finished T2 at 10-under. USC and Vanderbilt rounded out the top five to earn qualifying spots.
Lubbock Regional
The Rawls Course, Lubbock, Tex.
Due to inclement weather, The Lubbock regional started on Sunday and ended Tuesday, with Wake Forest completing the team and individual sweep. The Deacons went wire-to-wire and finished four strokes ahead of No. 1 seed Texas.
According to Wake Forest Athletics, This marks the 10th straight NCAA Championship appearance for the Demon Deacons which included capturing the program's first national championship in 2023.
Wake Forest Senior Carolina Chacarra earned her fourth individual title at 7-under. Farah O'Keefe of Texas finished in solo second place at 4-under and Chloe Kovelesky finished in solo third place at 2-under.
Norman Regional
Oklahoma Jimmie Austin Golf Club, Norman, Okla.
Due to incoming inclement weather, teams in the Norman regional played 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday, with Stanford coming out on top and winning its seventh NCAA Regional win since 2016. Andrea Revuelta of Stanford won her second tournament in a row to claim individual medalist honors.
Purdue defeated Texas A&M in a playoff to earn the final qualifying spot.
