Ford won his fifth tournament of the season to tie the all-time record for most wins by a Tar Heel

It has been a memorable senior year for North Carolina's David Ford.

The senior won his fifth tournament of the season at the 2025 Tar Heel Intercollegiate at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.

This win for Ford ties the all-time record for most wins by a Tar Heel with Dustin Bray with seven titles.

According to North Carolina Athletics, Bray won twice in 2001-02, three times in 2002-03, and two more in 2003-04. Ford won one tournament as a sophomore in 2022-23, one as a junior in 2023-24, and five times as a senior.

Ford shot 72-64-67 for a 7-under total to win by four strokes over Elon's Jack Wieler, who shot a final-round 4-under 66 to finish 3-under and in solo second place. Ford's twin brother Maxwell Ford finished T3 at 2-under with Kyle Bachkosky of Kennesaw State.

He is currently ranked No. 7 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.

Ford won his previous two starts in the Valspar Collegiate Invitational and the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. According to North Carolina Athletics, he becomes the first Tar Heel ever to win three consecutive tournaments. He is also the only player in men's college golf to win five times this season.

The Tar Heels won for the second time this season and the 24th in the last eight seasons under head coach Andrew DiBitetto. It marks the sixth straight season the Tar Heels have won multiple times.

North Carolina won the team title by one shot over Elon at 1-under. Kennesaw State finished in solo third place at 3-over.
