The younger Daly won a three-man scorecard playoff in the one-day, 36 hole event at Rolling Green Golf Club

John Daly II has had a solid amateur career thus far, and he can add a collegiate win to it now.

Daly won a three-man scorecard playoff at the new 2025 Columbia Spring Invitational at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Penn.

The one-day event was 36 holes, and five golfers scored four. Columbia hosted the event, and the field featured Arkansas, Bryant, Columbia, Dartmouth, Lafayette, Manhattan, Merrimack, Monmouth, Rider, Saint Francis (Pa.), Villanova, and Yale.

The junior from Arkansas and Montverde graduate carded rounds of 70-69 to finish 1-under, along with Matthew Lin of Yale and Tyler Brand of Dartmouth. Daly recorded six birdies, seven bogeys, a double bogey, and two eagles. He eagled the par-5 No. 7 in the first round and par-5 No. 17 in the second round.

Daly was three shots behind Brand and two shots behind Lin, standing on the No. 16 tee, and Daly then finished the final three holes at 4-under to force the playoff.

Daly has had a solid year, finishing T4 at the New Year's Invitational and solo fourth place at Palmas Del Mar Collegiate. He is currently ranked No. 140 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com U.S. Rankings.

Daly II is no stranger to national news and the spotlight. In 2021, he teamed up with his dad to win the PNC Championship, beating Tiger and Charlie Woods by two shots.

Mark Stockdale of Arkansas finished in solo fourth place at even par and one shot back of the playoff.

In the team competition, Yale finished at the top of the leaderboard at 7-over, while Arkansas finished in solo second place at 11-over. Dartmouth finished in solo third place at 24-over.
