Abuan shot a final round 6-under 65 to come from behind and win the individual competition by three shots
Ryan Abuan led San Diego to an impressive sweep at the 2025 The Prestige at PGA West, the Greg Norman Course, in La Quinta, Calif., winning the individual competition by three shots over the field. The event is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Abuan carded a final round 6-under 65 with eight birdies and two bogeys. He closed with a 31 on the back nine, with birdies on holes No. 10 through 13 and 15 to comfortably take the lead.
Abuan is currently ranked No. 289 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings. He recently finished T3 at the 2024 Thunderbolt Invitational, T7 at the 2024 Kapolei Invitational, and T9 at the 2024 Alister Mackenzie Invitational.
Sam Renner of Washington State and Freddie Turnell of Little Rock finished T2 at 8-under. 36-hole leader Kobe Valociek of Kansas State, Charles DeLong of Texas Tech, and Ian Maspat of San Diego finished T4 at 7-under to round out the top five.
In the team competition, San Diego carded rounds of 281-276-266 to finish 29-under and secure the win by 16 shots.
San Diego's final round of 18-under 266 saw them run away from the field behind Abuan's final round of 6-under 65 and Maspat's final round of 5-under 66.
Texas Tech finished in solo second place at 13-under, and Northwestern finished in solo third place at 11-under. Little Rock finished in solo fourth place at 10-under, and Colorado finished in solo fourth place at 7-under to round out the top five.

Two-time PGA Tour winner Ludvig Aberg of Texas Tech is a three-time champion of the tournament, while Texas Tech is the defending team champion. Aberg won the Genesis Invitational this past weekend.
This is the 25th iteration of the tournament and the 22nd year at PGA West.
The tournament has included U.S. Open Champions Wyndham Clark, Jon Rahm, and Gary Woodland and 2023 Ryder Cup participants Ludvig Aberg, Victor Hovland, Jon Rahm, Sam Burns, Clark, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
