The NCAA Division I Men's Regionals are underway as 81 teams and 45 individuals will look to punch their ticket to Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., for the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships from May 24 to May 29.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted to determine the 30 qualifying teams and six individuals (not on those qualifying teams) who will compete in the finals.
Thirteen teams and ten individuals (not on those teams) will compete at each of the three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals (not on those teams).
The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals.

The University of Texas Golf Club, Austin, Tex.
Texas has shot two rounds of 11-under 273 to take a commanding ten-shot lead into the final round at its home course. Tennesse and Notre Dame are also in good spots to advance, while Wake Forest and Arkansas will need to put up a good number in the final round to earn one of the five qualifying spots for the national championship. 2023 and 2024 ACC champion Michael Brennan of Wake Forest leads the individual competition by one shot over the Texas trio of Nathan Petronzio, Tommy Morrison, and Brian Stark, who are all T2 at 6-under.

After playing the first two rounds on Monday due to incoming inclement weather, the dad weather fell on Chapel Hill on Tuesday, and most teams did not get more than a few holes in. North Carolina was 6-under through its first couple of holes, but round three will resume on Wednesday. Calahan Keever of Clemson continues to lead the individual competition and is one shot clear of Austin Greaser of North Carolina.

Virginia holds a five shot lead over 2024 ACC champions Auburn, while Texas Tech, Duke, and Ohio State hold slim leads over LSU and Houston for the final qualifying spot. Ethan Evans of Duke shot a 5-under 67 took the individual lead, while 2024 masters tournament low amateur Neal Shipley of Ohio State moved into a tie for second place at 3-under with Connor Gaunt of LSU and Deven Patel of Virginia.

Vanderbilt still holds the team lead, but the host school Purdue has closed the gap to just one shot. Mississippi State and Indiana are on the outside looking in at New Mexico and Florida. Kent Hsaio of Purdue shot an impressive 7-under 65 to get to 8-under and take a three-shot lead over the field. Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt, the No. 1 ranked player in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings, is T2 at 5-under with William Moll of Vanderbilt and Garrett Endicott of Mississippi State.

The Farms Golf Club played much harder during round two, but North Florida was able to hold its one-shot lead heading into the final round. No. 1 seed Arizona State is still in trouble, as they are currently three shots out of the final qualifying spot. They will need a great final-round to earn one of the five spots in the national championship. Sampson Zheng of California holds the 36-shot lead at 5-under, while 2023 walker cupper Nick Gabrelcik moves into solo second place at 3-under and two shots back of Zheng.

The final round of this one will be interesting to keep track of, as the host school Stanford is currently out of the top five. Illinois, Florida State and Texas A&M are all in a race to win the regional, being within six shots of first place. First-round leader Max Herendeen of Illinois, Luke Clanton of Florida State and Phichaksn Maichon of Texas A&M are all tied for the lead at 9-under, while Tyler Goecke of Illinois and Frederik Kjettrup of Florida State are T4 at 8-under.
