Florida State Match Up: Duke shoots second lowest score in team history

Katie Li, a Duke freshman, secured the individual title to record the Blue Devil sweep
The Duke women’s golf team, the Blue Devils, shot 30-under 834 with rounds of 281-264-289. Securing the team championship at Florida State Match-Up held at Seminole Legacy in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Blue Devils clinched victory by an impressive margin of 10 shots, achieving their second-lowest 54-hole total in school history and securing their second victory of the season.
Florida State, the tournament host, carded rounds of 278-281-285 to register a runner-up finish at 20-under par.
In the individual competition, Katie Li, originally from Basking Ridge, N.J., scored rounds of 66, 66, and 72, totaling 12-under-par with a 204, securing a three-stroke victory.
Her score of 204 was tied for the third-lowest 54-hole score in Duke history on a par-72 course, marking her first Blue Devil freshman to win a tournament since Gina Kim in 2018-19. Li now joins the ranks of the 16 freshmen who have won events in Duke's history.
Li currently ranks 135th in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women’s Rankings.
Lottie Woad, a sophomore at Florida State, and Baylor senior Rosie Belsham both posted total scores of 9-under par, securing a joint runner-up finish at the tournament. Woad carded rounds of 70-68-69, while Belsham shot 70-66-71 during the tournament.
The Blue Devils saw three more players finish inside the top 13 at the tournament. Graduate student Emma McMyler carded rounds of 72-68-72 to join senior Anne Chen, who carded rounds of 73-65-74 for a T9 finish at 4-under par. Meanwhile, sophomore Andie Smith carded rounds of 72-65-77 to secure a T13 finish at the tournament.
