Arkansas has taken a narrow lead in the team competition of the 2024 Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, heading into the final round.

The Razorbacks lead the Arizona State Sun Devils by one shot, with Arkansas at 9-under and Arizona State at 8-under.

    Arkansas shot a second-round 6-under 278, while the first-round leader, Arizona State, shot an even-par 284.

Texas Tech is in solo third place at 6-under after a second round best 12-under 272, and 2022 and 2023 champion Vanderbilt is in solo fourth place at 2-under. Houston is in solo fifth place at even par, and Stanford is in solo sixth place at 1-over.

Tennessee is in solo seventh place at 2-over, and Ole Miss is in solo eighth place at 5-over

Michael Thorbjornsen of Stanford has taken the solo lead in the individual competition after a second-round 6-under 66 puts him at 8-under for the tournament. Jake Hall of Tennessee and Jacob Skov Olesen of Arkansas are T2 at 7-under.

Thorbjornsen started his round on hole No. 5 and made a bogey, but he made seven birdies on the remaining 17 holes to shoot the 6-under 66. He made three birdies in a row on holes No. 16, 17, and 18.

Thorbjornsen is one of the top amateur golfers in the country, currently ranked No. 5 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings. He is coming off an injury that forced him to miss six months of competitive golf.

Karl Vilips of Stanford is in solo fourth place at 6-under, and Matthew Comegys of Texas Tech, William Moll of Vanderbilt, and Frederik Kjettrup of Florida State are T5 at 5-under. Preston Summerhays and Jose Luis Ballester lead Arizona State at 4-under and T8.
