Qualifying is complete at 95 sites across the U.S., plus Canada and Mexico; see who has made it to Oakmont for the 121st U.S. Am
The USGA accepted 7,811 entries for the 121st U.S. Amateur Championship, to be played Aug. 9-15, 2021 at Oakmont (Pa.) Country Club and Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pa. The U.S. Amateur champion receives a world of perks, from automatic selection to the U.S. Walker Cup team (if he is eligible) to an invitation to the Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship to starts in a handful of other professional events. It's a life-changing win.
Highlights from qualifying include:
The final three qualifiers for the 121st U.S. Amateur came from the Naples, Fla. qualifying site. Former mini-tour player and soccer dad Nathan Bertsch was the medalist at 12 under par at Imperial Golf Club, while former professional Abbie Valentine and former University of North Florida golfer Nicholas Infanti took the other two spots at 10 under.

July 21
Jay Csipkes carded a pair of even par rounds of 72 to take medalist honors at Dallas National Golf Club by a stroke over Joshua Irving and Brad Mason, who are also headed to Oakmont. Csipkes was aided by an eagle two on the par-4 7th hole in his afternoon round and then parred nine of his last 11 holes to take medalist honors. Ross Steelman, who will be headed to Georgia Tech in the fall after spending last year at Missouri, led a group of five qualifiers from Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga. Steelman took medalist honors at 12-under 132 and was followed by four golfer finished at 133, including Conference USA Player of the Year Nick Robillard, who birdied three of his last four holes to earn a trip to Oakmont.

Patrick Sheehan, a rising junior at Penn State, and Temple's Conor McGrath, the reigning Philadephia Amateur champion, are headed to Oakmont after landing the two available spots at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Sheehan set the pace at 9-under 135 while McGrath was just one stroke behind. Sheehan is in the thick of a tremendous golf stretch. He tied for third in the 117th GAP Open Championship a week ago at Country Club of York. He earned medalist honors in Pennsylvania Golf Association Open Championship Qualifying at Indian Valley Country Club on Monday thanks to a remarkable 6-under-par 66. He also finished as runner-up in the PAGA R. Jay Sigel Amateur Match Play Championship last month.

Stanford's Ethan Ng birdied the last two holes to take medalist honors at Wiltwck Golf Club in Kingston, NY at 2-under 136 (68-68). James Jackson and Shkelgian Kukaj tied for the second spot at 1-under 137, with Jackson advancing in a playoff.

A pair of Ohio State Buckeyes - Jackson Chandler and JonErik Alford - used the familiar setting of the Scarlett Course in Columbus to advance to Oakmont where they will be joined by Neal Shipley of James Madison.

Bowling Green Country Club had a heavy SEC feel to it as Canon Claycomb (Alabama), Bryce Lewis (Tennessee) and Cooper Parks (Kentucky) all punched their tickets to Oakmont. Claycomb fired a career low and course-record 61 in his morning round. Cooper, who defeated Drew Doyle on the second playoff hole for the final spot, is the third Kentucky player to qualifying for the U.S. Amateur, along with Jacob Cook and Garrett Wood.

Oregon State commit Carson Enright took medalist honors at Cypress Run Golf Club in Tarpon Springs, Fla. at 5-under 139. He will be joined at Oakmont by four-time Florida State Golf Association Player of the Year Joe Alfieri, who defeated Jackson Stroup in a playoff after both players tied at 144 (E).

While Tyler Schafer and Adam Matteson were comfortably through to Oakmont, there were plenty of fireworks for the third and final spot at Valencia (Calif.) Country Club, where 1996 U.S. Public Links champion Tim Hogarth prevailed in a playoff over Eddie Lai of San Diego. Lai opened his final nine holes with six straight birdies but slipped into a playoff he didn't survive after making two untimely bogeys on 16 and 17.

The pace was fast and furious at El Macero (Calif.) Country Club where 7-under missed the cut by six shots. Christian Banke, medalist at the California Amateur, followed his morning round of 66 with a course-record 62 to finish at 16-under. Banke made eight birdies and an eagle in his afternoon round to finish three strokes clear of Tommy Hutchinson of UC Davis, who turned in rounds of 68-63.

Reed Greyserman, two-time MGA/MetLife Boys champion, is onto Oakmont after claiming medalist honors at The Bedens Brook Club in Stillman, NJ with an 8-under score of 136 (68-68). Former Williams College player Sam Goldenring shot a 4-under 68 in the morning and rattled off 18 pars in the afternoon to secure the second spot at 4-under 140.

Max Dupree birdied his final hole of the day to reach 3-under. Ryan Martee made four birdies on his final six holes, including 17 and 18, to earn a trip to Oakmont while 52-year-old Todd White, winner of the 2020 South Carolina Match Play, moved to 3-under with a birdie on 17.

Harvard junior and 2017 San Francisco City champion Brian Ma earned medalist honors at Alamaden Golf & Country Club in San Jose, Calif. with a 12-under 132 (68-64). Scores were low at Alamaden, where 7-under was left out of the mix.

USC's Leonard D'Souza was the medalist at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena, Calif. after finishing at 5-under 135. He will be joined at Oakmont by 55-year old Dennis Martin, a retired lawyer who played in the 2018 U.S. Senior Open. Martin secured his spot with a birdie on the last hole of the day.

Tension was high at Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno, where Michael Cliff and Matthew Sutherland of Fresno State and Saint Mary's College's Evan Peterson tied for medalist honors at 7-under 137. Cliff and Sutherland ultimately came out on top of a 3-for-2 playoff. Cliff birdied his last hole of the day just to get into the playoff.

BYU golfers set a fast and furious pace at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah where 12-under was left on the outside looking in. Jake Sollon, who plays collegiately at Oregon, birdied his second to final hole of the day to move to 4-under and then survived a furious late charge by Michael Mitchell, who made an albatross on the par-5 15th hole and a birdie on 18 for an afternoon 67, but ultimately fell one stroke short of earning a trip to Oakmont.

Tucker Allen, winner of the Saguaro Amateur and Grapevine Amateur in back-to-back weeks to start 2021, took the other spot.
