Qualifying is complete at 95 sites across the U.S., plus Canada and Mexico; see who has made it to Oakmont for the 121st U.S. Am

Qualifying for the 2021 U.S. Amateur is complete at 95 qualifying sites across the U.S., plus Canada and Mexico.

The USGA accepted 7,811 entries for the 121st U.S. Amateur Championship, to be played Aug. 9-15, 2021 at Oakmont (Pa.) Country Club and Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pa. The U.S. Amateur champion receives a world of perks, from automatic selection to the U.S. Walker Cup team (if he is eligible) to an invitation to the Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship to starts in a handful of other professional events. It's a life-changing win.

Highlights from qualifying include:

July 23

The final three qualifiers for the 121st U.S. Amateur came from the Naples, Fla. qualifying site. Former mini-tour player and soccer dad Nathan Bertsch was the medalist at 12 under par at Imperial Golf Club, while former professional Abbie Valentine and former University of North Florida golfer Nicholas Infanti took the other two spots at 10 under.

July 21

Jay Csipkes carded a pair of even par rounds of 72 to take medalist honors at Dallas National Golf Club by a stroke over Joshua Irving and Brad Mason, who are also headed to Oakmont. Csipkes was aided by an eagle two on the par-4 7th hole in his afternoon round and then parred nine of his last 11 holes to take medalist honors. Ross Steelman, who will be headed to Georgia Tech in the fall after spending last year at Missouri, led a group of five qualifiers from Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga. Steelman took medalist honors at 12-under 132 and was followed by four golfer finished at 133, including Conference USA Player of the Year Nick Robillard, who birdied three of his last four holes to earn a trip to Oakmont.

Patrick Sheehan, a rising junior at Penn State, and Temple's Conor McGrath, the reigning Philadephia Amateur champion, are headed to Oakmont after landing the two available spots at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Sheehan set the pace at 9-under 135 while McGrath was just one stroke behind. Sheehan is in the thick of a tremendous golf stretch. He tied for third in the 117th GAP Open Championship a week ago at Country Club of York. He earned medalist honors in Pennsylvania Golf Association Open Championship Qualifying at Indian Valley Country Club on Monday thanks to a remarkable 6-under-par 66. He also finished as runner-up in the PAGA R. Jay Sigel Amateur Match Play Championship last month.

Stanford's Ethan Ng birdied the last two holes to take medalist honors at Wiltwck Golf Club in Kingston, NY at 2-under 136 (68-68). James Jackson and Shkelgian Kukaj tied for the second spot at 1-under 137, with Jackson advancing in a playoff.

Northwestern's David Nyfjall of Sweden turned in rounds of 66-68 at Three Ridges Golf Club in Knoxville, Tenn. to take medalist honors at 10-under 134. Carson Kammann and Trey Tobias are also headed to Oakmont after surviving a 3-for-2 playoff with Jack Morris after all three golfers finished at 7-under 137.

A pair of Ohio State Buckeyes - Jackson Chandler and JonErik Alford - used the familiar setting of the Scarlett Course in Columbus to advance to Oakmont where they will be joined by Neal Shipley of James Madison.

Bowling Green Country Club had a heavy SEC feel to it as Canon Claycomb (Alabama), Bryce Lewis (Tennessee) and Cooper Parks (Kentucky) all punched their tickets to Oakmont. Claycomb fired a career low and course-record 61 in his morning round. Cooper, who defeated Drew Doyle on the second playoff hole for the final spot, is the third Kentucky player to qualifying for the U.S. Amateur, along with Jacob Cook and Garrett Wood.

Oregon State commit Carson Enright took medalist honors at Cypress Run Golf Club in Tarpon Springs, Fla. at 5-under 139. He will be joined at Oakmont by four-time Florida State Golf Association Player of the Year Joe Alfieri, who defeated Jackson Stroup in a playoff after both players tied at 144 (E).

Wyatt Koricanek birdied the last hole to move to 8-under and went on to defeat Johnson Pierce in a playoff for the final spot at the River Crossing Club in Spring Branch, Texas.

While Tyler Schafer and Adam Matteson were comfortably through to Oakmont, there were plenty of fireworks for the third and final spot at Valencia (Calif.) Country Club, where 1996 U.S. Public Links champion Tim Hogarth prevailed in a playoff over Eddie Lai of San Diego. Lai opened his final nine holes with six straight birdies but slipped into a playoff he didn't survive after making two untimely bogeys on 16 and 17.

The pace was fast and furious at El Macero (Calif.) Country Club where 7-under missed the cut by six shots. Christian Banke, medalist at the California Amateur, followed his morning round of 66 with a course-record 62 to finish at 16-under. Banke made eight birdies and an eagle in his afternoon round to finish three strokes clear of Tommy Hutchinson of UC Davis, who turned in rounds of 68-63.

Lake Oswego native Harrison Moir birdied holes 16 and 18 to move to 3-under 137 and a spot in a playoff, where he prevailed over Collin Hodgkinson, Zach Foushee and reigning Oregon Amateur champion Nate Stember.

Reed Greyserman, two-time MGA/MetLife Boys champion, is onto Oakmont after claiming medalist honors at The Bedens Brook Club in Stillman, NJ with an 8-under score of 136 (68-68). Former Williams College player Sam Goldenring shot a 4-under 68 in the morning and rattled off 18 pars in the afternoon to secure the second spot at 4-under 140.

Francis Catalano, 18, had two eagles, seven birdies and just one bogey for a 60 on his morning round to set a new course record at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai, Calif. He followed his spectacular morning round with a 68 in the afternoon to comfortably win medalist honors at 12-under 138.

RB Clayburn, a former wide receiver at Georgia Tech who is now a college basketball official defeated Georgia Tech sophomore Bartley Forrester in a 2-for-1 playoff for the last spot after both players finished at 7-under 133.

At the Largo Mar Country Club in Plantation, Fla., Enrique Dimayuga, who plays collegiately at Florida Atlantic, cruised to medalist honors at 8-under 136 (71-65), while Branden Valdez, Braden List and Jonah Wasserstrom tied for the final spot at 3-under 141, with Valdez and List advancing in a 3-for-1 playoff.

While Brady Hinkle comfortably earned medalist honors at Camden (S.C.) Country Club at 7-under 133 on rounds of 70-63, the other four qualifiers had to sweat out a wild finish before their spots were secured. Max Dupree birdied his final hole of the day to reach 3-under. Ryan Martee made four birdies on his final six holes, including 17 and 18, to earn a trip to Oakmont while 52-year-old Todd White, winner of the 2020 South Carolina Match Play, moved to 3-under with a birdie on 17.

In a tightly-contested qualifier at the Mendon Golf Club in Rochester, NY, 29-year-old Yaroslav Merkulov and former Carnegie Mellon standout Jason Li survived a 3-for-2 playoff with Jack Madden after all three golfers tied at 8-under 134. Madden was at 9-under on the day but bogeyed the his last hole to fall into a playoff he didn't survive.

Oregon State's Mateo Fuenmayor claimed medalist honors at The Home Course in Dupont, Wash. with a 9-under 135 (68-67) while his Beaver teammate Sean Kato along with Cody Roth of Western Washington birdied two of the last three holes to finish at 138 and ousted Ian Siebers in a 3-for-2 playoff.

Harvard junior and 2017 San Francisco City champion Brian Ma earned medalist honors at Alamaden Golf & Country Club in San Jose, Calif. with a 12-under 132 (68-64). Scores were low at Alamaden, where 7-under was left out of the mix.

Medalist honors at Columbine (Colo.) Country Club went to TJ Shehee who finished at 6-under 138 (71-67). Sean Crowley, 50, survived a 3-for-1, three hole playoff to secure the second spot out of Columbine.

USC's Leonard D'Souza was the medalist at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena, Calif. after finishing at 5-under 135. He will be joined at Oakmont by 55-year old Dennis Martin, a retired lawyer who played in the 2018 U.S. Senior Open. Martin secured his spot with a birdie on the last hole of the day.

Tension was high at Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno, where Michael Cliff and Matthew Sutherland of Fresno State and Saint Mary's College's Evan Peterson tied for medalist honors at 7-under 137. Cliff and Sutherland ultimately came out on top of a 3-for-2 playoff. Cliff birdied his last hole of the day just to get into the playoff.

Four-time New Jersey Mid-Amateur champion Trevor Randolph, 48, came out on top at Hackensack Golf Club in Orndell, NJ with a 9-under score of 135. Former Boston College college Christian Cavaliere birdied his last hole of the day to move to 7-under and went on to defeat Andy Butler in a 2-for-1 playoff.

North Carolina standout Ryan Gerard and 16-year old high school phenom and 2016 Drive, Chip and Putt finalist (10-11) Nashawn Tyson grabbed both spots at the Hobe Sound (Fla.) qualifier, with Gerard taking medalist honors at 6-under 138. Robbie Higgins birdied the 17th hole to tie Tyson at 4-under but lost his chance to advance to Oakmont after making a bogey on the 18th.

BYU golfers set a fast and furious pace at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah where 12-under was left on the outside looking in. David Timmins and Carson Lundell shared medalist honors at 14-under 130 while their BYU teammate Cole Ponich in also headed to Oakmont after finishing 13-under 131. Timmins made eight birdies and an eagle en route to shooting a 62 in his afternoon round.

There was plenty of excitement at Worthington Manner Golf Club in Urbana, Md. where Louisville standout Devin Morely claimed medalist honors at 11-under 129 on rounds of 67-62. Jake Sollon, who plays collegiately at Oregon, birdied his second to final hole of the day to move to 4-under and then survived a furious late charge by Michael Mitchell, who made an albatross on the par-5 15th hole and a birdie on 18 for an afternoon 67, but ultimately fell one stroke short of earning a trip to Oakmont.

Alejandro Armijo birdied his last two holes to move past Patrick McCarthy to grab the second qualifying spot at 9-under 135.

On the strength of an opening round 63, Davis Chatfield took medalist honors at Crestwood Country Club in Rehobeth, Mass, with a 10-under score of 132. The former Notre Dame golfer had six birdies on the inward nine of his morning round to get a jump on the field. Four-time Rhode Island Amateur champion Brad Valois birdied the last three holes of his afternoon round for a 66 and snagged the last qualifying spot at 6-under.

Hale began his first round by making five straight birdies out the gates en route to shooting a 29 on his first nine holes. Bakersfield native Maverick Pavelich also advanced at 8-under but 6-under and a pair of 5-under scores failed to qualify.

Timothius (Tirto) Tamardi, of Appalachian State University and Indonesia, was the medalist at 5-under 139. 48-year-old Michael Brown, who last week won the Delaware Amateur to go along with the Pennsylvania Amateur title he won last summer, matched the competitive course record at Colonial Golf & Tennis Club in Harrisburg, Pa. with a 10-under 62 in the first round.

He stood a shot clear of the field with two holes remaining in Round Two when lightning in the area prompted a suspension of play. Brown returned to Colonial Thursday morning, made an eight-footer for birdie on No. 8 and parred No. 9 to secure his ticket to Oakmont. Connor Sheehan also returned the next morning to take the other spot in a playoff.

At Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater, Texas, four players tied for the low score at 5-under 139. But with only two qualifying spots available, the four entered a playoff. Rutgers University rising sophomore Rhett Sellers, who shot an afternoon 65 to get into the playoff, birdied the first playoff hole to advance. Tucker Allen, winner of the Saguaro Amateur and Grapevine Amateur in back-to-back weeks to start 2021, took the other spot.

We are unlikely to see a bigger winning margin this qualifying season than the one enjoyed by Devin Morley, of Ireland and the University of Louisville. Playing in the Frederick, Md. qualifier at Clustered Spires Golf Club, Morley was a shot back after a morning 67, but broke away from the field with an 8-under 62 in the afternoon to finish 7 shots ahead of the field.
