ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (October 13, 2018) - The 15th St. Augustine Amateur title is up for grabs, with two players topping a crowded leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round.

Tianyu Wu, a 17-year-old from China who lives in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., had the round of the day to grab a share of the lead at seven under par. Wu went bogey free on Saturday, picking up three birdies on each nine. The highlight of his round was three straight birdies on the 3rd-5th holes.

Petr Hruby, another 17-year-old, added a 69 to his opening-round 64 to get into a share of the lead with Wu. Hrubý is originally from the Czech Republic but also lives in Howey-in-the-Hills and has committed to play college golf at the University of Washington.

Hruby overcame a double-bogey on the par-5 9th with a back nine 32 that included three birdies.

First-round leader U Minn Woon (Jacksonville, Fla.) showed some character on Saturday, overcoming a disastrous start to get himself back into contention. Woon started the day 7 under but made back-to-back double bogeys at the 2nd and 3rd holes, and lost another shot at the par-3 5th.

But Woon steadied himself with a string of pars, and then reeled off four birdies in a five-hole stretch on the back nine en route to an inward 31 and a 71 total. Woon will enter the final round one shot behind the co-leaders.

Jeremy Sisson, a 19-year-old from Skaneateles, N.Y., shares 4th spot with Ben Reichert of Tampa, Fla. and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Reichert shot 67 and Sisson shot 70 to sit just two shots back of the lead.

With five more players within four shots, the final round is shaping up to be a tight battle for the conquistador's helmet awarded to St. Augustine Amateur champions.

In all, 14 players are under par through 36 holes.

The low mid-amateur through two rounds is Jeff Golden (Jacksonville, Fla.), the 2018 Florida Mid-Amateur runner-up who is tied or 15th at 1-over 141.

The final round will played Sunday morning, with First Tee of North Florida participants once again serving as standard bearers for the final groups.
