Defending champion Clayton Madey is back to defend his title along with many talented college players at the Tour Championship

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (December 15, 2016) -- The 2016 AmateurGolf.com Tour Championship presented by Callaway Golf is set to kick off December 17-18. Poppy Hills Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones II design, will be the site of the annual season-ending event. Co-host of the Champions Tour's Nature Valley Open, the newly remodeled venue plays fast, firm, and fun yet retains the charm of winding through the forest inside the 17 mile drive. FIRST ROUND PAIRINGS Cal Berkeley junior Clayton Madey will be back to defend his title. Madey fired rounds of 69 and 70 in last year's event to win by two shots over Ryan Han and Tanner Hughes. Han, a junior at UC Davis, recorded a hole-in-one on hole No. 2 in the final round. He will also be back this year and looks to add more magical moments this time around. Other notable players include San Francisco City Champion Daniel Connolly, University of Auburn's Ryan Knop, two-time AGC Tour winner this year Daniel Dal Poggato, and Christmas Classic Champion Ashkaan Hakim. Dal Poggato and Hakim currently sit tied for 2nd behind Ben Doyle in the AmateurGolf.com Player of the Year standings.
