Anthony Quayle will carry a one-stroke lead into the final round at Druid Hills Golf Club

ATLANTA, GA (July 1, 2016) -- Anthony Quayle began the day in a first place tie, but a third day 3-under 69 pushed the 2015 Queensland Male Golfer of the Year to 14-under and ahead by one. 36-hole co-leader Charles Huntzinger is 13-under and in second place while Raul Pereda is just one shot further back and in third. Quayle bogeyed his first hole before responding with three front nine birdies and only one additional bogey to turn in 1-under 35. On the back nine of the Druid Hills Golf Club the Australian dropped a stroke on the 10th, then rebounded with birdies on 11, 14 and 15. Second round co-leader Charles Huntzinger had an up and down round on Friday as he carded a 2-under 70. Through the first two rounds Huntzinger had bogeyed only one hole, however in the third round the rising Penn State sophomore carded five bogeys. Fortunately, for Huntzinger he was also able to offset his dropped shots with seven birdies. Raul Pereda put together a 4-under 68 during Friday's third round to move to 12-under. First round co-leader Jimmy Jones (Florida Southern) is 11-under and in fourth while Luis Gagne (LSU) and Hayden Wood (Oklahoma State) share fifth at 10-under. 36-HOLE RECAP Charles Huntzinger and Anthony Quayle have moved to the top of the Dogwood Invitational leaderboard after the second round of play. Both players are 11-under and three-strokes clear of the field at Druid Hills Golf Club. Huntzinger opened with a 5-under 67 on Wednesday and followed it up with a bogey-free 6-under 66 on Thursday. On the day Huntzinger rolled in six birdies, with four coming on the the front nine. Through the first 36-holes Huntzinger has only one bogey, which came on the 11th hole of his first round. Anthony Quayle moved into a first place tie with a second round 6-under 66 of his own as he followed up a first round 5-under 67. Quayle birdied four holes on the front nine to turn in 4-under 32. The stellar player continued on the homeward side with a 12th hole birdie and an eagle two on the par-4 15th. Quayle dropped just one one shot when he bogeyed No. 11. Three players; Raul Pereda (Jacksonville), Andrew Lawson (Drexel) and Hugo Bernard (St. Leo) are all tied for third at 8-under. Five additional players are 7-under and share sixth place. First round co-leaders Jimmy Jones (Florida Southern) and Nathan Jeansonne (LSU) are part of the sixth place tie after a pair of 1-over 73's.
