Teams from Dry Creek Golf Course and Stonetree Golf Club share the lead after one round at the 2013 NCGA Associate Club Championship

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Aug. 26, 2013) – After the first round of the 47th Annual NCGA Zone Championship at Spyglass Hill GC, two teams are tied atop the leaderboard as Dry Creek GC and Stonetree GC each finished with a score of 121, 23-under-par. In a format which takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team, going out early proved to beneficial to the first round co-leaders as Stonetree GC was in the first group out at 7:30 a.m., while Dry Creek GC pegged it at 7:50 a.m. Bobby Aldridge, Joe Aldridge, William Hudson and Chris Tully of Stonetree GC were the first to post a score of 121, a round that included a net triple eagle, a net double eagle, six net eagles, six net birdies and only two net bogeys. Finishing about 30 minutes later the Dry Creek GC team of Robert Benson, Michael Moriarty, Scott Pierson and Alan Proctor matched their score doing so with a single net bogey. Besides that one mistake, the quartet of golfers from Dry Creek GC had one net double eagle, six net eagles and nine net birdies on the day. Three strokes behind and alone in third place is the team of Sacramento GC, who posted a net score of 20-under-par. Joining Sacramento GC in the penultimate groups off Nos. 1 and 10 is Del Rio GCC at 19-under-par and alone in fourth place. Little River Inn GC (18-under), Coyote Creek (17-under) and Corral de Tierra (16-under) hold positions fifth through seventh, respectively. Rounding out the top-10 in a tie for eighth at 15-under-par is Lincoln Hills GC, Benbow GC and Sequoia Woods GC. The championship will conclude tomorrow at Del Monte GC with first-round leaders, Dry Creek GC and Stonetree GC teeing off Nos. 1 and 10 tees at 9:40 a.m.
About the NCGA Associate Club Championship

NCGA Associate Club members ONLY. Best two balls of four net. 18 hole local qualifying. 28 teams advance to the championship. Championship is 36 holes (18 holes per day) played both at Spyglass Hill and Poppy Hills.
