The #1 ranked college golf team wins their 5th tournament in 6 starts, as they repeat in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
SAN JOSE DEL CABO, MEXICO (March 6, 2018) – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up its fifth victory of the season on Tuesday at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate, pulling way from the field to repeat as champion of the event at Querencia Golf Club.
The top-ranked Cowboys entered the final day one shot clear of the field before carding a 4-under 280 during their final round en route to an eight-shot victory. OSU finished with a 54-hole total of 14-under 838 at the par-71, 6,898-yard layout. California was second at 846, while Texas was third at 858.
For the Cowboys, the win was their third in a row to start the spring slate and their fourth in a row overall. OSU's current string marks the first time since the 2013-14 season they have won four consecutive tournaments. Additionally, OSU has made six starts on the year, winning five times to go with a third-place showing.
Cal's Collin Morikawa closed with a 64 to move into the top spot on the individual leaderboard, finishing at 16-under 197 and three shots clear of the field.The Carmel Cup — 🏆

Matthew Wolff led the Cowboys' starting five, closing with a 67 to finish alone in second place at 13-under 200. In six career starts, the freshman now has three runner-up showings to his credit after finishing second at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate and the Amer Ari Invitational as well.
On Tuesday, Wolff made the turn at even par after recording a front side with two birdies and two bogeys. However, he produced a bogey-free inward nine with birdies at Nos. 10, 12, 14 and 15 for a 4-under 31 score.
For Hovland, his third-place showing marked the third consecutive start he has finished inside the top five. The sophomore finished second at the Amer Ari Invitational before a fourth-place finish in his last outing at The Prestige at PGA West. Hovland closed with a 72 on Tuesday to finish at 4-under 209.
Freshman Austin Eckroat logged his first sub-70 round of the event, posting a 69 to climb 17 spots into a tie for 16th place at 215.
Junior Zach Bauchou rounded out the starting five with a 76 to tie for 53rd place at 223.
OSU will be back in action on March 12 when it begins play at the Lamkin San Diego Classic.
