HATTIESBURG, MS (April 30, 2017) - Southern Mississippi sophomore Philip Heine and Eddie Brescher posted an impressive 21-under tally to win the rain-shortened Mississippi State Four-Ball hosted by Hattiesburg Country Club. The duo opened with a 13-under 59 and never looked back on their way to a six-stroke victory that was assured following Saturday's 8-under 64.

Heine and Brescher bogeyed just once in 36-holes while birdieing 18-times, eagling twice and recording a hole-in-one on the 15th hole of Friday's first round.

With the win Heine became the eighth Golden Eagle to win the event since 2002.

Brad Thornton and Richie Williams took second place at 15-under, Michael Wilkinson and Stephen Yelverton were third at 13-under while three other teams shared fourth at 12-under.

The Senior Division title went to Rickey Riley and Robert Pannell who finished 18-under and in the Super Senior Division it was Houston Allen Smith III and David Smith emerging with a 12-under score.

With rain in the Sunday forecast the plan had been for the teams to play nine-holes making the event a 45-hole tournament however after play was suspended at 10:35 a.m. and unable to resume the 36-hole results became the final results.
