Issac Coss combined rounds of 72-74 to post 2-over and win the Sun Country Spring Stroke Play title
LAS CRUCES, NM (April 2, 2017) -- Issac Coss combined rounds of 72-74 to post 2-over and win the Sun Country Spring Stroke Play title.
In the first round at Picacho Hills Country Club Coss battled his way to an even-par 72 and a share of the lead. The round was a bookend style day. Starting on the 10th hole Coss bogeyed the 13th hole and then double-bogeyed the 15th before turning things around with birdies on Nos. 16-17 and 2-4. The final birdie brought Coss to 2-under only to give two shots with bogeys on the way in.
Across the board scores were higher on Sunday at Red Hawk Golf Club but on the strength of consecutive birdies on the 12th and 13th holes Coss was able to do just enough. Coss also bogeyed four-times in the round.
Justin Knauber was second at 4-over, Tristin Goodwin and Alex Delgadillo shared third at 6-over while Noah Hicks and Marty Sanchez tied for third at 9-over.
Other winners this weekend included Anton Salome in the Men's Senior Division and Samantha Surette in the Women's First Flight.
