Originally there were scheduled to be seven amateurs in the field but Stanford freshman Albane Valenzuela was forced to withdraw after an on campus bike accident on March 23rd.
The field of amateurs is once again headlined by World Amateur Golf Rankings No. 2 Hannah O'Sullivan. Headed to Duke for the fall of 2017, O'Sullivan will be making her second consecutive appearance in the ANA Inspiration after tying for 65th a year ago and sharing low amateur honors with Valenzuela.
O'Sullivan, the 2015 U.S. Women's Amateur winner, has also played in the U.S. Women's Open (2015; T53), Evian Championship (2015; T50) and Women's British Open (2016; MC).
The final amateur spot in the field this week went to Lucy Li who qualified over the weekend in the ANA Junior Inspiration. Li beat out 39 other junior golfers to earn her spot in the field at Mission Hills Country Club.
For Li, who played in the 2014 U.S. Women's Open at Pinehurst No. 2, this will be her second career start in a major tournament.

Katelyn Dambaugh (South Carolina, Sr.)- Set to make her LPGA Tour debut, Dambaugh was the ANNIKA Award runner-up last year and also an All-SEC first teamer. In 2015 she won the Women's North & South Amateur and last year she claimed the NCAA Women's East Regional medalist title.
Andrea Lee (Stanford, Fr.)- A member of the 2016 USA Curtis Cup team, Lee reached the quarterfinals of last years U.S. Women's Amateur. During her freshman year with Stanford she has won the Windy City Collegiate Classic and finished runner-up at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
Eun Jeong Seong (South Korea)- Seong made USGA history last year by winning the U.S. Women's Amateur and U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in the same calendar year. So far in 2017 she has a quarterfinal run to the Australian Women's Amateur quarterfinals to her name.
Paphangkorn Tavatanakit (Thailand)- The 2016 Rolex Junior Player of the Year, is committed to UCLA for the fall of 2017. She picked up a big win at last seasons Rolex Tournament of Champions.
