Jarryd Dillas captures Bermuda Match Play

HAMILTON PARISH, Bermuda (March 4, 2017) -- With a 4&3 victory Jarryd Dillas has won the 2017 Bermuda Match Play title. On Saturday Dillas, the top-seed, was able to handle No. 3 Arthur Jones.

Throughout the week at Mid Ocean Club the longest match that Dillas played was the title match, which reached the 15th hole.

In the Ladies Division No. 1 Tariqah Walikraam took home the top spot with a 5&4 victory over three-seed Katrin Burnie.

The Senior Division was captured by No. 5 Gary Carr who defeated two-seed Lynn Shackelford in 19 holes.

SEMIFINAL RECAP

The title match of the Bermuda Match Play has been set and the tilt will feature top-seed Jarryd Dillas and three-seed Arthur Jones.

Competing at the Mid Ocean Club Dillas has cruised to the finals and after winning his quarterfinal match 6&4 he handled No. 4 Robert Vallis in Friday's semifinals 7&5.

Things were a bit more difficult for Jones but he was able to move on with a 2&1 triumph over No. 7 Mark Phillips.

In the Ladies Championship No. 1 Tariqah Walikraam will battle No. 3 Katrin Burnie while in the Senior Championship it will be No. 5 Gary Carr against No. 2 Lynn Shackelford.

QUARTERFINAL RECAP

The Bermuda Match has reached the semifinals and among those remaining is top-seed Jarryd Dillas.

Playing at the Mid Ocean Club, Dillas moved onto the semis with a commanding 6&4 victory over No. 8 Kheary Swan.

In Thursday's final Dillas will square off against four-seed Robert Vallis who was a 6&4 winner as well against No. 5 Michael Lindo.

The only upset in the quarterfinal round came when No. 7 Mark Phillips outlasted No. 2 Spencer Wideman 2 up. Phillips will now face three-seed Arthur Jones in the semifinals.

Jones defeated six-seed Michael McCrimmon 4&3 in the quarterfinals.

The semifinal matches in the Ladies Championship will feature No. 1 Tariqah Walikraam vs. No. 4 Linda Down and No. 7 Susan Vallis vs. No. 3 Katrin Burnie.

While in the Senior Championship it will be No. 1 Tom Eberhard vs. No. 5 Gary Carr and No. 2 Lynn Shackelford vs. No. 3 Gray Yancey.
