LAS VEGAS, NV (December 11, 2016) -- When the final round of the AJGA Senior Showcase began on Sunday Trueman Park was an afterthought. However, by the time the final putt at Angel Park Golf Club dropped he was holding the trophy and at the top of everybody's mind.

Following a disappointing first round 4-over 75 that left the Chandler, AZ resident seven back Trueman was able to turn things around in the biggest of ways by firing a flawless 9-under 62 in the final round. Trueman was a remarkable 13-strokes better on Sunday as he finished 5-under and four-strokes in front of runner-up and first round co-leader Shuhei Takahashi.

The day for Trueman, a first time AJGA winner, began with two pars before he caught fire with five birdies on the next seven holes to turn in 5-under 30 and at 1-under for the tournament. Now in the zone, Trueman kept the peddle to the mettle on the way home by rolling in two more birdies and for good measure an eagle on the par-5 13th. His eight birdie, one eagle outburst came one day after he only recorded a single birdie while also bogeying twice and penciling in a triple-bogey.

Takahashi (-1) of Bradenton, FL was the only other player to finished under-par at Angel Park Golf Club. Carlos Tercero (Mexico) and Cole Yoshida (Redondo Beach, CA) shared third at 1-over while Reese Fisher (Medford, OR) and first round co-leaders Campbell Wolf (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Sun-Yi Lu (Taiwan) shared fifth at 2-over.
