Chip Brooke Claims Florida Mid-Amateur

LECANTO, FL (October 10, 2016) -- Barstow, Fla. native Chip Brooke defeated Tallahassee, Fla. resident Chris Fabozzi 8 and 7 today to capture the Florida Mid-Am Championship at Black Diamond Ranch.
Brooke, the No. 9 seed, was flawless in the championship match. He and Fabozzi, the No. 11 seed, started out with pars on the first two holes before Brooke took over. Starting with a conceded birdie on hole number three, Brooke would go on to win eight holes in a row from holes three to ten, making four birdies and four pars in the stretch.
A pair of pars on 11 closed the match out 8 and 7 for the 2015 U.S. Mid-Am qualifier.
