PARK CITY, UT (July 2, 2016) -- Three-time Utah Women’s State Amateur Champion Kelsey Chugg is now a three-time Mary Lou Baker Champion. After just ten minutes of warming up before her 9:18 a.m. starting time, Chugg, known for her consistency and ability to outdrive even the biggest of hitters, shot two-under-par 70 to claim her third consecutive Mary Lou Baker Open victory by two strokes over Naomi Soifua.

Despite a double bogey on the par-5 No. 18, Chugg started her round strong enough to remain on top of the leaderboard and defend her title. The 2015 UGA Women’s Player of the Year birdied Nos. 6 and 9 to on the front to shoot two-under 34 and four holes on the back to shoot even-par 36.

“Park City was an amazing host facility. The course was in excellent condition and the sights were unbeatable,” expressed Chugg. “Congratulations to Naomi for an impressive round. We had a lot of fun battling it out until the end. It’s always great playing the game I love with such talented ladies.”

Following her first-round score of nine-over-par 81, Annette Gaiotti shot seven over during the final round at Park City Golf Club. The 2015 UGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year shot a two-day total of 16-over-par 160 to win Flight 2 by 13 strokes over Karen Killpack and earn the title of Low Senior.

“I started out a little slow but was able to turn things around on the par-4 sixth hole,” said Gaiotti. “I hit a decent drive, a not-so-good second shot, and ended up getting up and down for par from under a tree. That was my kicker and helped me play the rest of my round well enough to shoot two over on the back.”

In Flight 3, Bayleigh Woodland overtook first-round leader Sydnee Guymon after carding a 79. Woodland shot 13-over-par 85 during the first round, placing her in second heading into the final round. With two doubles and three bogeys, she shot three-over 39 on the front and four over on the back.
