Ready for Championship at Women's Western Australian
WEST AUSTRALIA, AUS (March 12, 2016)--No. 2
Jessica Whitting and No. 4 Ebony Heard both squeaked
out tight matches to advance to the Women's Western
Australian.
In an event being held at Cottesloe Golf Club it
took Whitting 19 holes to dispose of her semifinal
opponent No. 6 Alysha Ahnantakrishnan. On the other
side of the bracket Heard won the 17th hole to win her
match 3-and-1 over No. 8 Claudia Pisano.
The Championship match will be 36 holes with a
morning and afternoon session.
Semifinals Preview
It's onto the semifinals in the Women's Western
Australian Amateur.
Tournament play began on Wednesday with the
first of two stroke play rounds. Following the
completion of day two the top-16 competitors
advanced to the match play portion of the event.
Semifinal Matches
No. 8 Claudia Pisano vs. No. 4 Ebony Heard
No. 2 Jessica Whitting vs. No. 6 Alysha
Ahnantakrishnan
Claudia Pisano reached the semifinals by upsetting
No. 1 Kathryn Norris on the 19th hole while her
upcoming opponent Ebony Heard won 2-and-1 over No.
5 Kirsten Rudgeley.
The other semifinal was setup thanks to a 4-and-2
win by Jessica Whitting over No. 10 Jennifer Herbst.
While it was No. 6 Alysha Ahnantakrishnan handling
No. 3 Maddison Hinson-Tolchard 6-and-4.

women amateurs of
any
age, and is played over 36-holes stroke play with
the
top 32 men and top 16 women qualifying for the
match
play rounds.
