MAMARONECK, NY (May 25, 2016) - Brandon Cigna and Ben Warnquist jumped on Otto Black and Colin Joseph early and then held on as they advanced to the final match of the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. Cigna and Warnquist won four of the first seven holes on the East Course at Winged Foot Golf Course to take a 4 up lead before surviving a late rally.

Cigna and Warnquist won holes 1, 2, 5 and 7 to quickly surge in front. Black and Joseph did respond winning two of the next three holes, trimming the deficit in half. But after a win on the 11th by Cigna and Warnquist was followed by a trio of halves the match was 3 up with four holes to go and appeared to be over.

However, Joseph and Black were not going to go quietly winning holes 16 and 17 before both teams halved 17 with a birdie two. Needing a win on the 18th to keep the match alive Joseph and Black lost the hole and bowed out after a valiant comeback.

Cigna, of Arlington, VA and Warnquist, of Olney, MD will now face Benjamin Baxter and Andrew Buchanan in the championship match.
