U.S. Open Local Qualifying Results
Editor's Note: Information from Golfweek and the USGA has been used in this report

U.S. Open Local Qualifying signals the beginning of what many amateur golfers hope will be a long journey. The goal is to have that journey come to an end late on Sunday, June 16 at championship proper at Merion Golf Club.

May 16 - Applebrook Golf Club, Malvern, Penn.

John Lynch shot a 1-under 70 to win medalist honors by a shot over David Sanders, Michael Tobiason Jr. and Brandon Knaub. RESULTS »

May 16 - Mendon Golf Club, Mendon, N.Y.

Former junior star Gavin Hall -- who recently returned to his native New York after leaving UCLA after enrolling early -- was the only player to break par at Mendon GC on Thursday, firing a 1-under 71 to take medalist honors. Fellow amateur Adam Condello and Ben Ferguson won a 4-for-2 playoff for the last two automatic spots, while Lindsay Wilson and Chris Malec are the alternates. RESULTS »

May 16 - The Baiting Hollow Club, Calverton, N.Y.

Paul Dickinson was the only player to break par on Thursday, firing a 1-under 69 to take medalist honors at the Baiting Hollow Club. With seven spots on the line, Matthew Lowe outlasted Andrew Bostrom and James Hazen in a playoff for the last automatic spot in the sectionals. Dickinson has worked as PGA professional. RESULTS »

May 16 - Forest Oaks Country Club, Greensboro, N.C.

Benjamin Griffin, No. 19 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings, fired an impressive 5-under 67 to take medalist honors in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday. Griffin recently finished T-21 at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, as well as won a state championship in North Carolina. RESULTS »

May 16 - The Bluffs Country Club, St. Francisville, La. Sam Burns, ranked No. 34 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings, fired a 3- under 69 to take medalist honors. Burns recently finished seventh at the prestigious Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, flirting with the lead for most of the tournament. Joining Burns as automatic qualifiers for sectionals were David Griffin and Derek Sanders. RESULTS »

May 16 - Fox Hollow Golf Club, Trinity, Fla.

Former Florida State standout Drew Kittleson, who played in the 2009 Masters and 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, fired a 3-under 67 to take medalist honors on Thursday. Amateur Travis Huston outlasted Jonathan Mansfield for the final qualifying spot after they both carded 1-under 69s. RESULTS »

May 16 - La Purisima, Lompoc, Calif.

Behind four birdies and a pair of bogeys, amateur Sean Crocker fired a 2-under 70 to take medalist honors to move on to sectionals. Brian Gonzales won a 9-for-1 playoff for the final qualifying spot. RESULTS »

May 16 - Settlers Bay, Wasilla, Alaska

Bill Bomar shot even-par 72 to win the lone qualifying spot by three shots over first alternate, amateur Derek Bayley, who shot 75. Kaleb Nichols shot 78 to earn second alternate honors. RESULTS »

May 15 - Shingle Creek, Orlando, Fla.

Brandyn Schneider shot a 7-under 65 to win medalist honors at Shingle Creek. Xiongyi Zhao of China shot a 67 good enough for second. Zhao plays over in China and Europe. He last played in the Volvo China Open where he missed the cut. Christopher Ross, Jong Yoon and Patrick Sweeny all shot 70 and had to win a playoff to advance. Phil Eich and Josh Pisarri are first and second alternates. RESULTS »

May 15 - Morris Park Country Club, South Bend, Ind.

Professional Clark Kalssen won the local qualifier with a 4-under 66. Chase Wright and Ryan Lenahan won a two- for-three man playoff to advance. The Indiana Hoosiers graduate Wright now plays on the Asia Tour. Lenahan graduated from Nebraska in 2007 and now plays on mini tours. Amateurs Brett Tomfohrde and Raymond Knoll are the alternates. May 15 - The Golf Club at Creekmoor, Raymore, Mo.

In a four spot qualifier and only one alternate spot, it was Zachary Coats and Erick Justesen that shared medalist honors at Creekmoor. Coats is a freshman at Arkansas. Tyler Shelton is a multiple time Missouri Amateur. He won in a playoff along with Chris Thompson with even-par 72s. Brad Nurski, a mid-amateur from Missouri, is the 2011 Missouri Mid- Amateur Champion. RESULTS »

May 14 - Erin Hills, Hartford, Wisc.

Garrett Jones was the only player to break par in earning a section spot on Tuesday at Erin Hills. Jones opened his round with six consecutive pars, posted birdie at the par-5 7th, gave it back with a bogey at No. 13, but birdies at Nos. 14 and 16 put him back out front. Four of the five qualifiers are from Wisconsin. The most exciting part of the round was the battle for the final two spots, as seven players posted 1-over 73s. Mike Sorenson and Daniel Zimmerman would earn the final two spots, while Kelly Kretz and James DeBoer will have to wait to see if someone drops out before the sectionals. May 14 - Shadow Ridge Country Club, Omaha, Neb.

Judd Cornell used four birdies and a single bogey, while Brandon Crick had seven birdies, an eagle and six bogeys as they shared medalist honors at Shadow Ridge CC in Omaha, Neb. Crick was 3 over on the par-3s, but responded by going 5 under on the par-5s, including his eagle at the 536-yard, par-5 7th. R ESULTS »

May 14 - Atlanta National, Alpharetta, Ga.

Jordan Mitchell earned medalist honors with a 3-under 69 driven by three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the back nine. Several qualifying spots were not determined before play was suspended due to darkness. One notable who won't advance is former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz, who shot a 4- over 76. Smoltz started birdie-triple bogey, eagled the 9th to make the turn at 2 over, then bogeyed the 12th through 14th to take himself out of the running; a birdie at the 16th enabled him to finish T- 30. May 14 - Texas Star Golf Club, Euless, Texas

Casey DeVoll earned medalist honors ahead of PGA Tour pros Steven Bowditch and Hunter Haas. DeVoll finished 31st in the Merrill Lynch Open on the Adams Golf Pro Tour this year. Bowditch finished T-29 at the Honda Classic in March. Haas finished T-47 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last month. RESULTS »

May 14 - Briggs Ranch, San Antonio

Jeff Rein and amateur David Snyder shared medalist honors ahead of a group of five golfers two shots back that includes former pro J.J. Wall, who has regained amateur status. RESULTS »

May 14 - Crystalaire Golf Club, Llano, Calif.

A bogey-free back nine and birdies at Nos. 17- 18 propelled Chris Baingo to medalist honors by two strokes over David Games, who avoided a playoff with a birdie at the last. Aaron Wise and Eugene Choi earned alternate spots thanks to closing birdies. RESULTS »

May 14 - Industry Hills, City of Industry, Calif.

Santiago Canyon College freshman Austin Amaya tied with Sejun Yoon for medalist honors by a stroke over the other three qualifiers. First-alternate Benjamin Lein had won this local last year, while Doug Batty earned second-alternate honors this year with a birdie at the 18th. RESULTS »

May 14 - Ironwood Country Club, Palm Desert, Calif.

Amateur Tyler Sterk, formerly of UC-Santa Barbara, shared medalist honors with pros Mark Hubbard and Michael Drake. Jesse Schutte birdied the 18th then earned the final qualifying spot, while Matt Gibbens bogeyed the last and went on to fall from contention for an alternate spot. RESULTS »

May 14 - Grove City Country Club, Grove City, Penn.

Canadian Mark Hoffmann and Sebastian Hutman of Pennsylvania both fired 2-under 70s to share medalist honors and grab two of the four spots available at Grove City CC. Derek Foresee and Shawn Adamczyk grabbed the final two spots at the Tom Bendelow- and John Ponko-designed course. RESULTS »

May 13 - Westwood GC, Houston

Former Web.com Tour player Travis Bertoni took medalist honors at Westwood Golf Club, leading a group of eight players to advance after carding a 65. Alternates J.J. Wood and Brian Rowell missed the opportunity to advance in a playoff after shooting 68. R ESULTS »

May 13 - Rhode Island Country Club, Barrington, R.I.

Eddie Kirby took medalist honors after shooting a 68 and topping amateur John Gilmartin in a playoff. Among players to advance are former collegiate All- American Michael Capone, Colin Amaral and Bobby Leopold. Leopold made it to the Round of 16 at the 2011 and ‘12 U.S. Amateur. RESULTS »

May 13 - Whitford Country Club, Exton, Penn. Amateur Michael Brown led the field at Whitford Country Club with an even-par 72 while battling windy conditions. Four of the five players to advance were amateurs, including Loyola (Md.) men’s golf coach Chris Baloga, who finished second at 1- over. RESULTS »

May 13 - Hidden Valley Country Club, Sandy, UT

John Shaw III led the field at Hidden Valley Country Club with a 7-under 65, leading BYU sophomore Devon Purser, who trailed the lead by one stroke. Pros Brett Smith and Matt Baird will serve as alternates after shooting 68 and 69, respectively. R ESULTS »

May 13 - Maketewah Country Club, Cincinnati, OH

Kentucy Wildcat Stephen Powers lead the Cincinnati local qualifier with a 68 to win medalist honors. Chris Baker and Jack Newman advanced with 3-under 69s. Newman won the 2008 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.Peter Malnati and Mitchell Moore shot 70. Thomas More Saint junior Michael Marcagi, Justin Badgett and amateur Alec Tahy shot 71 to advance. Tahy is an incoming freshman at the University of Arkansas. Ryan Brehm and Tom Walters won a two for three playoff over Freddie Janneck. Sam Arnold is the second alternate. R ESULTS »

May 13 - TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas

At the home of the PGA Tour’s Shriner’s Open, Roger Tambellini shot 5- under 67 to win medalist honors by two shots. Tambellini played on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tours. He has seven professional victories. Professionals Craig Barlow, Anthony Aguilar and amateur Carl Jonson shot 69 to advance. Jonson is a sophomore at UNLV. Former UNLV player and reigning PGA Tour Wells Fargo champion Derek Ernst won a two for three playoff. He shot 70 also with Nick Killpack to advance. R ESULTS »

May 13 - Genoa Lakes, Genoa, Nev.

Professional T.J. Morrey shot 6-under 66 to claim medalist honors by three shots. Amateur and Colorado Buffalo freshman Kraig McLeod advanced. McLeod of Pebble Beach, Calif., shot a 69. Jared Becher and Trent Virden won the last two spots in the qualifier. Ian Dahl and T.J. Duncan are the first and second alternate. R ESULTS »

May 13 - Willow Ridge Country Club, Harrison, NY

Greg Bisconti, the 2011 Westchester Open and Met PGA Championship winner, Mark Ledom and Brian Bartow shot 2-under 69 to lead the qualifiers. Two amateurs, Maxwell Buckley and Jeremy Quinn, also advance. Buckley made it to the Round of 16 at the 2011 U.S. Amateur and played college golf at SMU. Quinn earned his place in a 7-player-for-2- spot playoff. Quinn birdied the third playoff hole in near darkness to advance. Michael Caporale, Steve Scott and Brian Hughes had to return early May 14 for the last spot, won by Caporale. Scott, a former tour player, lost to Tiger Woods in the 1996 U.S. Amateur. May 13 - Haworth Club, Haworth, N.J.

Between bogeys at Nos. 1 and 17, Michael LaBrutto carded six birdies and an eagle to best the field by five strokes. LaBrutto, head pro at Greenacres CC in Lawrenceville, N.J., qualified for last year's PGA Professional National Championship. Among the notables who failed to advance: 16-year-old Kyle Sterbinsky, who finished T-17 at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley last month. RESULTS »

May 13 - Pinewild Country Club, Pinehurst, N.C.

Charlotte freshman Daniel Brantley, McCuen Elmore and Winthrop senior Kamito Hirai shot 3-under 69 to win medalist honors at Pinewild’s Magnolia course. Paul Brown advanced with a 2-under 70. More college players, Winthrop sophomore Taylor Dickinson and East Carolina freshman Grayson Murry finished at 1-under 71. David Erdy beat out Chad Bricker and Tyson Alexander for the last qualifying spot. Notables to miss the cut where Todd White, who is a possible Walker Cup member, Jack Fields, who played in the Wells Fargo Championship, and Drew Weaver, the 2007 British Amateur champion. May 13 - Oak Ridge Country Club, Hopkins, Minn.

Maxwell Hosking shot 1-under 69 to win medalist honors. Don Berry and Cameron White shot even-par 70 to advance. Berry played in the 2002 PGA Championship at Oak Hill. He is the head golf professional at Edinburgh USA Golf Club. Stephen Bidne and Christopher Peterson won a playoff against first alternate Josh Manske to advance to sectional qualifying by shooting a 1-over 71. Julian Ramirez is the second alternate. May 13 - Warwick Hills, Grand Blanc, Mich.

Joe Juszczyk of Dearborn Heights, Mich., overcame a frost delay and near-freezing temperatures to earn medalist honors by one stroke. His round of 69 included seven birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. The Wayne State University graduate who turned pro in 2011 said, “I had a great front nine with birdies on both of the par-5s.” Juszczyk went on to say, “I played steady golf and didn’t let the cold weather and wind bother me.” Brian Churchill-Smith had the shot of the day. The Canadian who plays college golf for Eastern Michigan, aced the third hole. With his ace he carded a 71 and avoided a five-for-two playoff for the final qualifying spots. RESULTS »

May 13 - Seven Bridges Golf Club, Woodbridge, Ill.

Michael Smith and Michael Schachner shared medalist honors, Smith on the strength of birdies from Nos. 8-11 and Schachner riding a 33 on the front to his score. Thomas Kalinowski secured a spot with birdies at Nos. 15-16 before finishing with two pars. Kenneth Li bogeyed the 18th to fall into a playoff but advanced, while Joshua Habig birdied to get into the playoff and then advance. RESULTS »

May 13 - Illini Country Club, Springfield, Ill.

Illinois sophomore Alex Burge, Craig Onsurd and amateur Casey Pyne earned medalists honors by shooting 2-under 69. The last qualifying spot went to Shawn Jasper, who beat out Illinois senior Mason Jacobs and Matt Miller. Jasper has played on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour. He now plays on the Adams Golf Pro Tour. May 13 - Marietta Country Club, Kennesaw, Ga.

Australian Richard Swift bested the field by two strokes despite bogeys at Nos. 16 and 18. Auburn senior Dominic Bozzelli, who won the Amer Ari Invitational this season, was part of a six-way tie for second. Michael Peter bogeyed No. 18 and needed a playoff to secure the final qualifying spot over Kennesaw State's Jimmy Beck, who bogeyed Nos. 17-18 in regulation, and Georgia freshman Lee McCoy. Notables who failed to qualify include Henrik Norlander, a PGA Tour rookie out of Augusta State who finished T-15 at this year's Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour; defending U.S. Junior Amateur champ Andy Shim, who recently turned pro; Clemson's Billy Kennerly; and Georgia Tech's Oliver Schniederjans. May 13 - Bent Pine Golf Club, Vero Beach, Fla.

John Nieporte shot 7-under 65 to claim medalist honors. Martin Ureta and amateur Austen Truslow both finished tied for second after carding 66. Nieporte is currently the head pro at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach County, Fla. Truslow, who attends Lake Mary Prep in Lake Mary, Fla., recently finished T-17 at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley. RESULTS »

May 13 - Sawgrass Country Club, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Timothy O'Neal and amateur Scott Wolfes shot 70 to share medalist honors. O'Neal endured several close calls at PGA Tour Q- School but never earned his card. Wolfes won twice this season for Georgia Southern, and also finished second three times. Among the notables who didn't qualify: Notah Begay III, a four-time PGA Tour winner, and Blayne Barber, a former Auburn standout who is playing in this week's Byron Nelson Championship on the PGA Tour. May 13 - Lake Jovita, Dade City, Fla.

Danny Evelyn shot 5-under 67 to take medalist honors by a shot over Robert Taylor and amateur Chase Koepka, a South Florida freshman and brother of former Florida State standout Brooks Koepka, who currently plays on the European Challenge Tour. Junior golfer Sam Horsfield, who held the lead for a good portion of this year's Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, also qualified. RESULTS »

May 13 - The Heritage at Westmoor, Westminster, Colo.

Dustin Mills fired a bogey-free 5-under 67 to win by four shots. Other qualifiers included University of Colorado golfer Drew Trujillo and fellow amateur Michael Harrington. RESULTS »

May 13 - Collindale Golf Cub, Fort Collins, Colo.

Canadian Scott Stiles shot 4-under 67 to share medalist honors with amateur Brett Wilson. Stiles, who played college golf at Oral Roberts, is a two-time Alberta Amateur champ and currently plays on PGA Tour Canada. He also has chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, which is a nervous-system disorder. Also qualifying is Oklahoma State freshman Wyndham Clark. Colorado State sophomore Cameron Harrell was first alternate. RESULTS »

May 13 - Ruby Hill Country Club, Pleasanton, Calif.

Amateur Joshua Stone offset a triple bogey at the par-4 15th with four birdies and an eagle to capture medalist honors with a 3- under 69. Also advancing were Jason Schmul, and amateurs Eric Ash, Hayden Shieh and Mac McClung, who plays at St. Mary's. Former Sacramento State golfer Cameron Rappleye was second alternate, but his brother, Grant, saw his sectional dreams end. RESULTS »

May 13 - Bermuda Dunes Country Club, Bermuda Dunes, Calif.

Lyon Lazare shot 3-under 69 to share medalist honors with Alex Coe. Lazare is a senior at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Coe aced the par-3 seventh and eagled the par-5 13th at Bermuda Dunes. Among the notables who failed to advance is 62-year-old Mac O'Grady, a two- time winner on the PGA Tour who is most known for attending PGA Tour Q-School 17 times before earning his card. He finished T- 9 at the 1987 U.S. Open. RESULTS »

May 11 - The King Kamehameha, Wailuku, HI

Garrett Okamura and Kyohei Nomura tied for medalist honors with a 3- under 69 at Kin Kamehameha GC. Okamura is a PGA professional at The Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course in Kahului, Hawaii. Nomura plays out of Honolulu. He plays different qualifying events and as well as state open tournaments. Amateur Kyle Hayashi and Mitchell Evanecz are the alternates from this site. Hayashi shot 2- under 70 and Evanecz shot an even-par 72. RESULTS »

May 10 - River Landing, Wallace N.C.

Nick Rousey, who finished third in the Web.com tour's Stadion Classic a week ago, blistered the field with a 62 for medalist honors. The former Alabama golfer was bogey- free for the day, with a 6-under back nine capped by birdies at Nos. 16- 18. Former East Carolina player Harold Varner III also moved on after shooting 66. Zack Byrd finished birdie-birdie to advance. RESULTS »

May 9 - Secession GC, Beaufort, S.C.

Ryan Nelson and Mark Anderson shared medalist honors with 7-under 65s, with Anderson using his hometown advantage to help himself advance to sectionals. Nelson, from nearby Charleson, S.C., was 4 under on his opening holes, while going 3 under coming in. Anderson, who won the SCGA Amateur in 2009, had the lowest front-nine score at 5-under 31. Among those not qualifying is Brad Benjamin, a former Memphis star. Benjamin will be the second alternate from the qualifier after losing a playoff with Bradley Long. RESULTS »

May 9 -Waynesborough CC, Paoli, Penn.

Mikel Martinson shot even-par 71 to share medalist honors with amateur Oliver White. Martinson is a former NAIA player who has made five of six cuts on the eGolf Pro Tour this season. Amateur Jeffrey Osberg, who has back surgery six months ago shot 72 to advance along with amateur Braden Shattuck and Travis Howe. Chris Gallagher earned the final spot by making a 10-footer for birdie on the first playoff hole. RESULTS »

May 9 - Westmoreland CC, Export, Penn.

Daniel Obremski earned medalist honors by two strokes, a bogey-free, 3-under-par front nine spurring his 66. Kevin Shields, bogey-free all day, and Dan Konieczny, spurred by a 2- under back nine and a birdie at the 18th that ultimately kept him from needing to compete in a playoff, also made the field. May 9 - Chambersburg CC, Chambersburg, Penn.

Amateur Gary Carpenter of Crofton, Md., advanced to his fourth sectional qualifier after shooting 2-over 74 to share medalist honors with amateur Stephen Bosdosh and David Hilgers. RESULTS »

May 9 - Morris County GC, Morristown, N.J.

Mark Yannotta was the only non-amateur to advance or earn an alternate spot out of the Morristown, N.J., qualifier. One day after rain delayed the qualifier, Yannotta shot an even- par 70 to share medalist honors with Pat Wilson and Louis Bodine. Brinson Paolini of Duke, winner of the Byron Nelson Award, also qualified along with Peter Kozubal. RESULTS »

May 9 - Worthington Manor, GC, Urbana, Mary.

George Bradford and Jay Woodson each shot 68 to earn medalist honors. Bradford has played in two PGA Tour events, the 2008 RBC Canadian Open and 2004 Booz Allen Classic, and has missed the cut both times. He's also played a number of tournaments on the Canadian and Web.com tours. Woodson won last year's Virginia State Open and will appear on Golf Channel's Big Break Mexico, which begins airing this month. Amateur Sean Bosdosh, named 2012 player of the year by the Maryland State Golf Association, also qualified. Bosdosh won the Maryland State Open and finished runner-up at the Maryland State Amateur last year. His father, Steve, also advanced to sectional qualifying out of Chambersburg, Pa. RESULTS »

May 9 - Pinehills (Nicklaus), Plymouth, Mass.

Amateur Nick Pandelena earned co-medalist honors along with Mike Welch as the two shot 5-under-par 67s, Pandelena with a 3-under front nine and Welch with a 3-under back. Pandelena of Boston College finished 29th at the ACC Championships recently. RESULTS »

May 9 - The Sagamore Club, Noblesville, Ind.

Michael Davan made nine birdies en route to shooting 5-under 67 to earn him a share of medalist honors with Eric Steger, a former player at Ball State. Davan, an IUPUI alum, missed the cut at this year's Stadion Classic, a Web.com Tour event in Athens, Ga., and finished second at last year's Southwestern Amateur. Indiana senior Brant Peaper shot 70 to also qualify. RESULTS »

May 9 - Lake Wales CC, Lake Wales, Fla.

Connor Arendell and Ty Harris shared medalist honors, outplaying some PGA Tour veterans along the way – Marco Dawson, who first became a PGA Tour member in 1991, earned a qualifying spot with a 68 while Len Mattiace, a two-time PGA Tour winner, played his way into the second-alternate spot. Former UCF player Brad Schneider also qualified. Notables missing the cut include Andy Zhang, who in 2012 qualified for the U.S. Open as a 14-year-old but this year missed by three strokes. May 9 - Country Club of Fairfield, Fairfield, Conn.

Rob Labritz bested the field by a stroke with a 3-under-par front nine and a birdie at the 10th, with room to bogey the 16th and 18th and still win medalist honors as one of only two golfers to break par on the day. Cameron Chottiner, 15, and Peter Richards, 16, were among three amateurs to qualify. RESULTS »

Former University of Arizona player Brian Prouty shot 8-under 65 to tie for medalist honors with Jin Park, who has made just 3-of-11 cuts on the PGA Tour this season. Eric Meierdierks, who has made just 2-of-10 cuts on the PGA Tour this season, is the second alternate. With his dad, John Hahn Sr., on the bag, John Hahn Jr. shot 2-under 69 to win medalist honors. Hahn Jr. was a three-time MAC player of the year at Kent State. Kent State sophomore Ryan Troyer was among those who tied for second. Cleveland State sophomore Mike Balcar sank a birdie on the second playoff hole to earn a spot in the sectional round. Canadian professional Yohann Benson and former Nebraska player James Troy earned the other two qualifying spots out of the playoff. Christian Heavens shot 4-under 68 to win medalist honors. Heavens, who made four birdies and no bogeys, advanced to sectional qualifying last year before finishing T-30 in Springfield, Ohio. Dennis Bull won medalist with a 4-under 68. Bull is a mid-amateur who played on Team Iowa at the USGA Men’s State Team Championship in 2012. Jonathan Feldick and Steven Ihrn both shot 69 to also advance to sectional qualifying. Chad Proehl beat out Iowa State alum Nate McCoy and Ian Vandersee for the last qualifying spot. Krister Eriksson was medalist with a score of 3- under 69. Eriksson best finish of the year is a T- 35 finish at the Roberto De Vicenzo Invitational and the Ablerto del Centro. With a 72 was Bryden Macpherson and Nyasha Mauchazs. Macpherson is the 2011 British Amateur champion. He also attended Georgia for two and a half years before turning professional. Taeksoo Kim of Idaho fired a 5-under 66 on Monday to advance to sectional qualifying, standing as only one of three players in red figures at Ridgecrest Golf Club in Nampa, Idaho. He'll be joined at sectionals by Jesse Heinley of Oregon, who fired a 3-under 68. Kim was bogey-free on his round, going out in 4-under 32, and picking up his fifth birdie of the day at the par-4 15th to post a 1-under 34 on the back nine. Heinley had only one hiccup on the day, picking up bogey at the par-4 11th. He had birdies on Nos. 1, 4, 7 and 14 to capture the final automatic spot. Three Pac-12 college players lead the way at this local qualifying site. UCLA golfer Jay Hwang won medalist honors with a 3-under 69. Arizona State’s Alberto Sanchez, USC’s Anthony Paolucci and Chris Parra of Dallas, Texas, shot 2-under 70 to also qualify. The last qualifier is Nicolas Garica of La Quinta, Calif with a 1- under 71. Tommy Masters overcame a double bogey at the third and went on to birdie six of his next eight holes en route to a 6-under 66 and medalist honors. Martin was born with Klippel-Trenaunary-Weber Syndrome in his right leg, which allows him to use a golf cart to get around the course. James Allenby of Langley, B.C., carded two eagles - including a hole-out on the par-4 10th hole - and six birdies en route to a 10-under 61 to easily qualify for the sectionals, breaking the club record in the process. "I knew I was having an awesome round. Each time I stood up to the ball, it felt the same. ... This is huge momentum (going into the sectional)," Allenby told the Bellingham Herald on Monday. With seven spots available, Tyler Wong and Jack Kelly won a 3- for-2 playoff with Derek Berg to secure the final two spots after all three fired 2-under 69s.
