Missouri Am: Wilson edges Berkmeyer
CAPE GIARDEAU, Missouri (June 24, 2012) -- Nick Wilson of Columbia Mo. defeated Skip Berkmeyer, 2-and-1, in the final match of the 2012 Missouri Amateur Championship at Dalhousie Golf Club.
In the 36-hole finale, Wilson finished the first 18 holes 1-up. The final 18 was a back-and-forth battle, seeing Berkmeyer win two holes back-to-back to knot the match before Wilson won the 33rd and 34th holes.
A halve on the 35th put an end to a wild match.
During stroke play qualifying, Wilson was 1-over after the two rounds, finishing alone in fifth place. Berkmeyer was tied for 13th at 5-over.
