Two trips down Castle Pines' 18th hole are required for Jason Pool and Barry Dyche to defeat Tony Bagneschi and Bryan Hoops in sudden-death

CASTLE ROCK, Colorado (June 1, 2012) -- Under terrific golfing conditions, the final round of the 2012 Charlie Coe Invitational hosted at Castle Pines Golf Club has been completed and thecompetition was outstanding. In the Mid-Am division, the team of Jason Pool of Dunn Loring, VA, and Barry Dyche of Charlotte, NC, finished in a tie for first place with Tony Bagneschi of Scottsdale, AZ, and Bryan Hoops ofChandler, AZ. The playoff took two trips down the 18th hole until Pool and Dyche made par to seal the deal. In the Senior-Am division, John Pigg and Eddie Lyons fired a final round three under 69 to win top honors by a whopping 6 strokes. The golf course was in excellent shape, but played extremely tough, and the tournament experienced some of the best weather it has ever had. Placing third in the Mid - Am division at 203 was the team of Eric Ecker ofSpringfield, MO, and Brent Roof of Columbia, SC, who posted a strong final round score of 66. Right behind them in fourth place at 204, and another final round 66, was the team of Jack Larkin of Atlanta, GA, and Bill Hodges of Thomasville, GA. Pigg and Lyons grabbed the lead on the first day and never looked back, especially when Lyons aced the par 3 11th during the second round. In second place at 212 were Coe veterans Mike Rice of Houston, TX, and JerryHudgins of Kingwood, TX, with the team of Ben Hargis of Alexandria, LA, and Dave Delich of Colorado Springs, CO finishing third. The tournament was a tremendous tribute to Charlie Coe, one of the best amateur players in golf. His accomplishments included two USGA Amateur Championships (1949 and 1958), playing in nineteen consecutive Masters (making the cut fifteen times) and being a seven time member of the WalkerCup (Captain in 1957 and 1959). -- story courtesy Don Hurter, Castle Pines Golf Club
