MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (Jan. 18, 2012) -- 2011 Australian Stroke-play Champion Cameron Smith of Queensland has emerged as the medallist at the Australian Amateur Championship at the completion of qualifying at the Woodlands and Huntingdale Golf Clubs in Melbourne.

18 year old Smith, from Royal Queensland in Brisbane, is not only the current Australian Stroke-Play Champion but the Australian Boys Champion.

He won the Australian Stroke-play Championship at nearby Victoria Golf Club last year.

Smith’s second round of 68 at the Woodlands Golf Club today saw him complete his 36 holes in 3 under 141 after his opening round of 73 at Huntingdale yesterday had him four behind the overnight lead.
