LECANTO, Florida (May 7, 2010) -- Meghan Stasi said she wasn't sure which golf format she likes best.

After defeating Naples' Mary Jane Hiestand 5 and 4 in the finals of the 81st annual Florida State Women's Match Play Championship at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto on Friday, Stasi apparently likes them all.

The 31-year-old Stasi, of Oakland Park, won her first state championship as she had three birdies on the day to defeat Hiestand, who won the event in 2007.

"I like match play more after today," said Stasi, a two-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champion and the fifth-ranked Amateur according to Golfweek/Titleist. "It's been a great year so far. There is great competition around the state and I am just fortunate to be able to play as much as I have."

It was the fourth consecutive victory for Stasi, who won the Women's International Four Ball championship at the Orangebrook Golf and Country Club in January; the Palm Beach Polo Club Ladies' 4-ball Invitational three weeks ago and the Broward Amateur Women's tournament last week by a mind-boggling 20 strokes.

"It was a tough week," said Stasi, who was 4-up at the turn and was 6-up through 12 before closing out Hiestand with a par on the 14th hole. "It was a long, hot week on a true championship golf course. It is definitely a great streak. We'll see later this summer if I can keep it going."

Stasi, who played on the 2008 Curtis Cup team, will attempt to qualify for her third U.S. Women's Open on May 24 in Houston.
